Thinking that it would not change, one meditates on the advice of patience. By dedicating all virtues such as discipline to omniscience, one sees that Buddhahood itself is attained and immeasurable fruits arise without interruption, and for the benefit of beings, one makes great aspirations to dedicate virtue to enlightenment. Seeing bodhisattvas as the main ones who show dependent arising as it is, one respects them, as it says in the Engaging in Bodhisattva Deeds: 'Always taking up pure discipline, one will abide in it. One will give charity and rely on compassion. One will meditate on patience, and dedicate its virtue to enlightenment, in order to liberate beings. One should also respect the complete Bodhisattvas.' So it is said. If the understanding of emptiness grasps the key point, then the understanding will be like that. If one understands with reason that all cause and effect are negated, then not only is it a mistake, but in the meantime, even if one speaks words like not deceiving oneself, there is no way to firmly establish the certainty of dependent arising. Not only does the listener have no merit, but faults also arise. Therefore, one should listen to, hold, think about, and meditate on the profound teachings without harming the certainty of cause and effect and dependent arising, and make prayers of devotion in all lifetimes. The second part has three: the meaning of the title, the meaning of the text, and the meaning of the conclusion. The first part is: In the language of India, Prajñā (梵文, प्रज्ञा,prajñā,wisdom) is ཤེས་རབ (wisdom) in Tibetan. Madhyamaka (梵文,मध्यमक,madhyamaka, the Middle Way) is དབུ་མ (the Middle Way). Mūla (梵文,मूल,mūla,root) is རྩ་བ (root). Kārikā (梵文,कारिका,kārikā,verse) is ཚིག་ལེའུར་བྱས་པ (in verse form). Nāma (梵文,नाम,nāma,name) is ཞེས་བྱ་བ (named). Among these, ཤེས་རབ (wisdom) is the way of the Perfection of Wisdom, that is, only one aspect of the name is mentioned. As it says in the commentary on the Lamp of Wisdom: Because it accomplishes the way of the Perfection of Wisdom, it is said to be the Lamp of Wisdom. This is named from the point of view of what is to be explained. དབུ་མ (the Middle Way) is like the center in the world that abandons the extremes is called the middle, abandoning the two extremes of existence and non-existence, therefore the center itself is the Middle Way, this is expressing the benefit to its own meaning. Because it shows and proclaims the Middle Way, it is called "ཀ" (ka), that is, the root of the word, whatever has the name of the Middle Way treatise or the Middle Way, that is the Middle Way. Or, because it is called by the name "ཀ" (ka), it is called the Middle Way, that is, the tenet of the Middle Way, as Lekden said.

It is based on the root of the language of Yamaka that the treatises of Madhyamaka or the tenets of Madhyamaka are named Madhyamaka. If the middle that abandons the two extremes is explained as Madhyamaka, then it is said in the Samadhiraja Sutra: Existence and non-existence, both of these are extremes. Purity and impurity, this is also an extreme. Therefore, after completely abandoning the two extremes, the wise will not dwell in the middle either. How should this be understood? This is like the objectivists, who block the one-sided extreme and cling to the real middle that is separate from it, thereby showing that they do not dwell in it, and it is not showing that the middle that abandons all extremes such as existence and non-existence is non-existent. In the Commentary on Reasoning, it is said: The extreme is the end and the final part, near and direction and base. As it is said, the meaning of the word extreme has many meanings, but the extreme of being free from extremes is the appearance of Madhyamaka. If Madhyamaka has the essence of the nature of the mind, whatever it may be, then, at that time, because there is this, is it permanent or impermanent? If one clings to this manifestly, how can it become an extreme? It is not reasonable to say that following the truth of things as they are and paying attention to them properly is a place of falling. As it is said. That is to say, the object that exists as it is grasped is not an extreme here, and the mind is also paying attention properly, so it is not clinging to an extreme. Therefore, the extreme of this is a place of falling, just as the world says that a cliff is an extreme, and falling from there is called falling into an extreme. For this, true existence is not possible even in name, because true non-existence exists in name, so saying that it does not exist in the ultimate sense is not clinging to the extreme of non-existence, and denying that it is not so is not denying the non-extreme, but if one clings to the negation of what is to be negated, it truly exists, then one will fall into the extreme of the non-existence of things, therefore, denying it is also denying the non-extreme. Phenomena such as karma and its effects exist in name, and no measure can harm them, therefore, clinging to these objects and subjects that are not existence or non-existence is the non-extreme and clinging to it, like saying that the Buddha has no faults, etc., is not the non-extreme and clinging to it. This is the non-extreme of defamation, while the former is the non-extreme of superimposition.
