The two, in relation to time, show the two of permanence and annihilation; in relation to place, show the two of coming and going; in relation to number, show the two of one and many. If birth exists, then destruction exists; if it does not exist, then it does not exist. Therefore, it is reasonable to say that without birth, there is no destruction. If someone says: Sacrifice is born in the first half of life and dies in the second half of life, birth and death have before and after, but in order to show that self-nature establishment does not have such before and after, the order is made uncertain. If self-nature is established, then it will not go beyond self-nature one and many. If the two of being born earlier and dying later have different self-natures, then the sacrifice will not die after being born, and will not be born before dying. If the self-nature is the same, then the one who was born earlier will die. If that is the case, then the one who died earlier must be born later, so there will be the fault that if a god dies, he must only be born as a god. The second is, reciting "Homage" means to pay respect. To whom do we pay respect? To the complete Buddha who shows dependent arising. How is it shown? Because dependent arising itself is not born of self-nature, therefore, in terms of the nature of the object of equanimity and non-outflow, for this, it shows the destruction of momentary disintegration, and the birth of becoming one's own thing, and the constant of the previous cessation and constant existence, and the coming from afar to near and the going from near to far, and the many of different meanings, and the one of not different meanings, all these do not exist. The Suchness of dependent arising, as it is, is seen by the noble ones. In order to stop all the proliferations of what can be expressed and what is expressed, and name and what is interpreted, etc., therefore, the Suchness of dependent arising is called the quiescence of proliferation. Like that, the object of mind and mental factors, without the movement of conceptual thoughts, therefore, through the gate of the cessation of the terms of knowledge and knowable, it is separated from all harms such as birth, old age, sickness, and death, so it is peaceful. Because of understanding the Suchness of dependent arising, the only Victorious One speaks truthfully and without error, and knows that the words of others are like the babbling of children, the mind is very happy, and again shows that the teacher is the most excellent of speakers, thus making a distinction from others. Who said it? It was said by the Protector Nagarjuna. The time is when the treatise is written.

Initially. The reason is to generate delight in showing oneself as holy and showing others. Although there are many ways to praise the shower, praising through the door of dependent arising, and many other statements, as stated in the offering verse of the "Sixty Reasoning," by the reason of being dependent arising, by the manner of preventing all extremes such as arising and ceasing. The reason why this great self-master is very pleased is that this is also the chief of all reasonings. The second part has two parts: arranging the chapters of the treatise in the order of practice, and explaining the meaning of each chapter. The first part has two parts: determining the mind that grasps the object to be refuted by reasoning, and how the treatise is shown as a branch of refuting it. The first part has two parts: the actual meaning, and the manner of adding distinctions to the object to be refuted. The first part is: In the twenty-sixth chapter, the order in which ignorance causes cyclic existence to arise, and the order in which cyclic existence ceases when ignorance ceases. Ignorance ceasing will become: By meditating on that with knowledge. Thus, by meditating on the meaning of knowing the suchness, ignorance is abandoned. Therefore, the two powers of knowing the suchness and not knowing the suchness cause the two results of cyclic existence and nirvana. If ignorance is not determined, one does not know how to abandon it, just like shooting an arrow at an unseen target. Therefore, ignorance should be determined. It is not merely not knowing the suchness, nor is it merely different from the suchness, but it is grasping in a way that is opposite to its way of grasping, it is the opposite, inconsistent side, therefore it is grasping that things truly exist. As the "Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness" says: Those things that arise from causes and conditions, whatever thought is truly existent, the Blessed One said that is ignorance, from which the twelve branches arise. And as the "Precious Garland" also says: Just like a mirage, thinking that the world exists or does not exist, that grasping is delusion, if there is delusion, one cannot be liberated. The delusion of grasping at non-existence that is spoken of here is the ignorance of being deluded about karma and its results, therefore it is not relevant here. Grasping that the world exists is the ignorance of grasping at truth. Among these two, the ignorance of being deluded about the self of phenomena is the object of focus, such as the eyes and ears.
