In that Buddhapālita, it is said: The beginning, middle, and end, the prior limit of birth cannot exist, if not two and two, how can one and one arise? As quoted from the Hundred Treatises, the three, beginning, end, and middle, are the three, birth, cessation, and abiding. Birth and cessation are empty of inherent nature, so abiding is also empty of inherent nature, meaning that there is no middle because there is no beginning and no end. Therefore, samsara is not inherently existent, so the samsaric being is not inherently existent. The second has three: brief statement, detailed explanation, and summary of meaning. The first: Samsara has no inherent beginning, middle, and end, therefore, for the samsara, the birth, aging, and death of the samsaric being, the sequence of time established by inherent nature, whether prior, posterior, or simultaneous, is not reasonable. Our own school says that sentient beings revolve and run continuously from beginningless to endless. Based on the statement that there are sentient beings who can be born and die, it has already been established that the cycle of birth and death is not inherently established by saying that there is no beginning or end for those who say that the person is inherently existent. Here, if birth and death are inherently established, it is shown that it will definitely not exceed the three times, thereby refuting these three. In general, all compounded things have birth and aging, as previously stated: "All things at all times are of the nature of aging and death." Although cessation is also called death, for the sequence of time such as cause and effect of non-sentient beings, because this reason is stated in other occasions, here it is done in terms of sentient beings. The terms death and dying should also be combined with the specific situation. The basis for examining what is prior, posterior, and simultaneous is the birth, aging, and death of Deva-given's first, middle, and last times, so these three are generally adopted. The second has two: refuting prior and posterior, refuting simultaneous. The first has two: refuting prior birth, refuting prior aging and death. The first: If the birth of the samsaric being is prior, and aging and death are posterior to it, then, at that time, that birth will not have aging and death, that is, there will be no death. If that is admitted, then that birth will become uncompounded, otherwise it will...
