The so-called "I" refers to race. If a person is cremated, they will not die, because fire burns firewood, and death occurs when the object being burned is exhausted. If not burned, there is no cause for death. If one does not die, one will remain in a state of intense burning, possessing one's own mark. The word "also" has three usages. If used for emphasis, it means remaining only with one's own mark, or that fire will not transform into anything other than firewood. If used for distinction, it will become any situation such as not meeting. If used for collection, it means not only the previous situations such as not meeting. Therefore, fire should not be separated from firewood. This is said to indicate the negation of those ashes. Second, if it is said that because it is other, there is no meeting, no meeting, etc., it is unreasonable, because even if fire is different from wood, it can still meet with wood. For example, just as a woman meets with a man, and a man meets with a woman. Although this verse is used as an answer in the new translation, Cho-ro translated both Buddhapalita and Prajnapradipa into the treatises of the former school, and translated it as "If fire is different from wood, it can still meet with wood," which is a very good translation. If fire and wood exclude each other, like men and women, and are established without mutual dependence, even if fire itself is different from wood, it is impossible to want to meet with wood. Therefore, this example is meaningless, because an example of two different things that are mutually dependent meeting should be given, but it is not given in this way. The second part is divided into two points: refuting the argument of dependence; refuting the argument of obviousness. The first point is: if fire and wood are not mutually independent like men and women, but are mutually dependent. Therefore, both of them have their own self-nature established, just as the son and daughter of a barren woman who do not exist are not seen to be mutually dependent, if it is said so, then refuting this is divided into three points: analyzing and refuting dependence from the three times; analyzing and refuting dependence from things without dependence; refuting both dependence and non-dependence. The first point is divided into two points: refuting dependence on the past and future; refuting dependence on the simultaneous. The first point is: if this fire depends on this firewood.

If it is said that it is called fire because it relies on firewood, and the firewood is placed in the fire; if it is said that firewood is what this fire burns, and firewood is placed because it relies on fire. Then, relying on what do the two, fire and firewood, become, and what is the first established place of reliance? If it is thought that firewood is first established, and it relies on this to become fire, that is unreasonable. Because what is not burning is not firewood, otherwise all grass etc. would become firewood. Saying this means that if firewood is established by its own nature, it must meet with fire, not just referring to the current firewood, because many actions of earlier and later times can be established nominally. If fire is first established, and it relies on this to be considered firewood, that is also unreasonable, because there is no fire that is established before firewood. If there is, it will become causeless, and there will be no need to rely on firewood later. If firewood is first established, and it relies on this to be established as fire, then if fire is not established, it should not rely, it must rely on what exists. In this way, if fire has already been established, and it needs to be established again, then there is no need to rely on it again. Furthermore, if it relies on the prior establishment of firewood to establish fire, then it is the same for the firewood that is to be burned, if firewood can be established without fire, that is unreasonable. In Buddhapalita's treatise, the first verse first asks what is established first, if firewood is established first, then the two sentences "if firewood relies" are used to refute; if fire is established first, then the two sentences "to be burned" are used to refute. If the two that are considered as what is relied upon do not exist, then it should not rely, it must exist; if they exist sequentially, then fire can be established without firewood, so there is no need to rely on firewood; firewood can be established without fire, so there is no need to rely on fire, this is how it is explained. Here, it is denying the inherent existence of reliance, and it shows that this will not go beyond the two situations of earlier and later times and simultaneous times, as pervasive. When denying earlier and later times, because in the earlier time there is no later, and in the later time there is no earlier, and if reliance inherently exists, then at any time the relied upon and the relying must both exist simultaneously, it is refuted by showing the contradiction. The second is: if only at the same time firewood is established and fire is also established, fire is established and
