If different, it would become constantly burning, and would not arise from the cause of burning. Actions would also become meaningless, and if that were the case, karma would also disappear. To establish this very point, if the nature of fire is different from firewood, then the fire would not need to rely on other firewood, because this (firewood) makes the fire burn, so the burner is the firewood. Therefore, the cause of burning, that is, it would not arise from that (firewood). The fire that depends on the burner, if it does not exist, it will die out, and if it does not depend on it, it will not lack the conditions for dying out, so it will become constantly burning. If it is constantly burning, then in order to prevent the fire from dying out, all actions such as taking firewood and igniting it would become meaningless. If that were the case, without the karma of being burned, the fire would become the burner, but there is no agent without karma. Therefore, it is unreasonable for the nature of fire to be different from firewood. Here, too, it should be understood that by refuting the opposite of the consequence, one proves the absence of otherness with reason. The second case is: if fire is different from wood, then fire will arise without wood. To this, if someone thinks that the thing with the nature of burning, that is, the firewood that is being burned by the fire, and the fire also depends on it, there is no independent existence, so there is no fault of fire arising without wood. Then, when the burning thing with the nature of burning is only firewood, since there is no fire with a different nature from it, then which fire with a different nature from firewood will burn that firewood? It is unreasonable to do so. Therefore, it is also impossible for the nature of firewood with the nature of burning to be established, so that fault cannot be avoided. The Hundred Treatises says: Fire burns heat itself, how does it burn what is not heat? Therefore, there is no such thing as firewood, and there is no fire apart from it. What is said is clear. The second part is divided into two points: the meaning of the text and the elimination of uncertainty about it. The first point is: Furthermore, since the nature of fire is different from firewood, it will not meet like darkness, and if it does not meet, it will not burn firewood like living in the land of the kalpa's end. In that case, the burning firewood
