Phye. Holding and not holding also do not arise. Complete discrimination is like illusion and mirage. Thus it is said that the actions of going to the lower realms and bringing harm, and the actions of creating the realm of the gods, are empty of inherent nature, and that these are established by the power of conceptual imputation. Thirdly, if these actions and agents are not merely established as existing by the power of conceptualization, but are grasped as existing by their own nature, then neither the agent nor the action is reasonable, and it must be understood that these two are only established in dependence on each other. The examination of the agent and the action is the nature of twelve verses, and is the explanation of the eighth chapter. Secondly, there are two parts to explaining the selflessness of the person: refuting the inherent existence of the person, and refuting the proof of the inherent existence of the person. The first has three parts: explaining the main text, combining it with the definitive meaning of the scriptures, and summarizing the meaning and indicating the title. The first has two parts: stating the former position, and refuting it. The first is: Here, it should be known that this is how it is taken up, in order to clarify the action and the agent. It is unreasonable to say that, like seeing and hearing, and feeling, etc., what is the near taking up of what is taken up? That is, the one who takes up is the one who exists before those who are taken up, as some of the Hearers' schools say, who are respected by many, because the reason is that there is a gift before the wealth, so the wealth is not the son of Sogge's Mosha. If the thing, that is, the person, exists before, how can seeing, etc., be taken up by the person? Therefore, it is not reasonable. Therefore, before seeing, etc., the thing, that is, the person who takes up, exists, so it is asserted. The "etc." in the first part includes the remaining four senses, and the "etc." in the latter part includes mental events such as touch and attention. And the word "and" includes the three that are said, seeing, hearing, and feeling, and the meaning of all the remaining senses and mental events that are not said, and the word "also" means that it should be believed that the remaining things that are included also belong here, and the word "empowered" means that the first two lines are the senses and the mind.

By taking all mental events together and controlling them, that is the meaning of entering into it, as stated in the Lamp of Wisdom and its commentary. Path of the Virtuous), the Sarvāstivāda (ཀུན་གྱིས་བཀུར་བ་,梵文天城体:Sarvāstivāda,梵文罗马拟音:Sarvāstivāda,汉语字面意思:All Exist), the Guru (བླ་མ་པ་,梵文天城体:Guru,梵文罗马拟音:Guru,汉语字面意思:Teacher School), and the Dharmagupta (ཆོས་སྦས་པ་,梵文天城体:Dharmagupta,梵文罗马拟音:Dharmagupta,汉语字面意思:Hidden Dharma School) these five assert that the person is substantially existent, as stated in the Blaze of Reasoning. The second part has three points: refuting that the taker is inherently existent; thereby showing that what is taken is also inherently empty; dispelling the dispute that the taker is not inherently existent. The first part has two points: refuting the self posited by others; how one establishes the person nominally oneself. The first part has three points: refuting that the taker exists before all that is taken; refuting that it exists before each of what is taken; refuting the proof that the taker exists before all that is taken. The first part has two points: refuting because there is no cause to posit the taker before what is taken; refuting because the taker does not have a basis residing in what is taken before. The first point is: if the taker is inherently existent, then it is no more than earlier, later, or simultaneous with what is taken, the latter two will be refuted later, so here refuting earlier than what is taken, namely: whatever object, person, exists before seeing and hearing, etc., and feeling, etc., because there is no cause to posit it, generally, the person and specifically, the seer, etc., cannot be established. Like this, if the cause for nominally positing a person is seeing, etc., then that person is earlier than them, then like a vase and felt, it will not depend on seeing, etc., and whatever does not depend on its own cause is causeless, like a rich person who does not depend on wealth, etc., does not exist. Here it is not said that if there is a temporal precedence, then the former should not depend on the latter, because according to one's own system, all cause and effect are considered to be mutually dependent. Therefore, establishing a person as a seer, etc., is universally dependent on seeing, etc., and if the taker's dependence on seeing, etc., is inherently established, then it must always depend, so when the taker exists, there is no seeing, etc., to depend on, because it does not depend on them, so universal dependence can also be refuted. The second point is: if seeing, etc., do not exist, even before them
