Although both self and other must say that there is action, if the production of cloth is established in the ultimate sense, then these two, as the basis and the based, are self-established by their own nature, so one should never be confused about this. Because there must be cloth at that time, it is already established before production, and it is necessary to produce cloth again, just as it has been said before. This seems to be a very important reasoning that appears at the beginning and the end. In both Buddhapālita and the Lamp of Wisdom, the first two lines are similar to this, and the latter two are: Why does it arise there? If it exists, it will not arise. This is translated and explained on this basis, which is slightly different from this. Third, even if it has been determined that what is being produced in that way will not be produced, it should still be said according to your accepted system. If, according to your system, that production produces the fruit that is being produced, then production is like production, and now it needs to be said what other production produces it. In the other two commentaries, it is translated as: Production is the producer, and what is production? In this way, an explanation consistent with this is made, and there does not seem to be any inconsistency in meaning in the Clear Words, so these two are correct old translations. If another production produces that production, then that also needs another, and that also needs another production, so it will become endless. If you do not want another production, then there is production even without another production, and if that is the case, then all other things will also be like that, without a producer, they will also be produced, so they will be produced even without production. Second, regarding the statement "production produces itself and others," although no fault is mentioned in this distinction, it has already been said above, that is, "for a while, existence and non-existence are also," these four lines, what is mentioned above refers to the meaning of existence or non-existence, that is, the situation of "when the Dharma exists," etc. What Buddhapālita mentioned above is that in the case of the two lines "for a while, existence and non-existence are also," he said that it is meaningless for existence to produce, and if non-existence produces, then even a rabbit's horn will be produced. Through this statement, the production of both existence and non-existence

Regarding the explanation of obstruction, or any time when the Dharma exists, etc., two explanations were made. Third, moreover, if we contemplate this birth, it does not exceed two situations. If we contemplate the present moment, which is in the process of decay and manifestly tending towards decay, then it is not reasonable for it to arise again, because it exists. If we contemplate the past and the future, which are not in the process of decay, i.e., are separate from destruction, then there is no self-nature birth for them either, because it is not reasonable as a thing, because the characteristic of a thing is to be separate from destruction. This refers to the destruction of a pot and the future pot not existing in the thing of the pot, and it is not considered that those two cannot function, which will be explained later. In that way, the past and the future should also be understood. To this, Buddhapalita said: You produce the thing that is being produced. Because the thing that is being produced must also have decay, because a thing is characterized by destruction. If that is admitted, then for a thing that is decaying, birth is not reasonable, because what is being produced will increase, and what is decaying will decrease. If it is thought that when the fruit is being produced, the fruit is not decaying, if a thing that is being produced does not decay, then the thing that is being produced is not a thing, because there is no destruction, so there is no characteristic of a thing. If that is admitted, then it is unreasonable to say that the thing that is being produced is produced, and it will become that the non-thing that is being produced is produced, this is how it is explained. Second, if the arising of things is self-nature existing, because abiding is self-nature existing. Abiding is because there is birth, there is the Dharma of existence, and without birth, there is not, so abiding exists, therefore it is established that birth exists, if it is thought like that. There are three refutations to this: Refute by examining the three times in action. Refute by examining whether it is decaying or not. Refute by examining whether there is another abiding agent or not. First, if abiding is self-nature existing, it will not exceed three situations, that is, the past that has already abided is not abiding, because at that time the action of abiding has ceased. The future that is not abiding is also not abiding, because at that time the future
