Then, isn't this negation referring to the non-existence of the entity of a rabbit's horn? How can it be reasonable to say that if there is no object to be negated, there is no reason for negation? This is not the same, just as in conventional terms, if an entity does not exist, then the non-entity of a pot also does not exist in conventional terms. Ultimately, if an entity does not exist, then an obstructive non-entity also does not exist ultimately, that is the meaning. Second, if you say that you, the one who contemplates the existence or non-existence of things, exist, and therefore the things to be examined, whether they exist or not, also exist, then, by what means does the one who knows and discerns things and non-things not exceed three possibilities? If it exists as an entity by its own nature, then the term "characteristic" and if it exists as a non-entity by its own nature, then the term "the existence of things" have already been negated, so it is unreasonable. The thinker of the five aggregates, which is neither the entity nor the non-entity with different attributes, also does not exist, therefore the thinker does not exist by its own nature. The Blessed One also said: "Whoever knows things as non-existent, will never be attached to all things. Whoever is never attached to all things, will touch the samadhi without characteristics." This means that knowing that all things are without self-nature, one will not grasp the examiner and all things as true. And also: "Those who think of emptiness in the Dharma, those children have entered the wrong path. The emptiness of the Dharma is spoken with letters, those without letters are shown with letters. Whoever thinks of the peaceful and utterly peaceful Dharma, that thought will never arise. All elaborations are the appearance of the mind, therefore, understand all things as inconceivable." So it is said. The meaning of the two lines "Those who think of the Dharma" is not to show that thinking of emptiness is entering the wrong path, but to show that those who are negated by the two lines "Those who are peaceful," those who grasp emptiness as true, are entering the wrong path. Among them, the meaning of "without letters" is that the one who shows that the self-nature of all things is empty also shows that he himself is without self, which is the source of denying non-entities as true, without being established. Third, as mentioned earlier, if it is unreasonable to examine in this way, then when

It is concluded that space is not inherently existent in any of the four: things, non-things, names, and characteristics, as previously stated. The term "what is signified," which is well-known in Tibet, is written as "name" in this and many other Chinese texts, and since the Sanskrit root of these two words is the same, it is unreasonable to say that the combination of name and what is signified is contradictory. Others, based on the previous reason, say that there are three bases for name and what is signified, which is also unreasonable. Just as when proving what is to be proven with a reason, there are three things: what is to be proven, the prover, and the basis of proof, so too, when signifying what is signified with a characteristic, it is possible to do so. If so, then there must also be three for what is expressed, which is what we accept. Because the Sanskrit root is the same, saying that two things are the same does not prove that the other thing is also the same; there are many such cases. Secondly, the five elements, such as earth, other than space, those that remain, should also be known to be empty in terms of the inherent existence of things, non-things, names, and characteristics, just like space. For example, before the characteristic of the earth element, "earth does not exist even a little," and "therefore the earth element is not a thing," combine them in this way, and combine the others in the same way. In the Abhidharma, in order to dispel the attachment to the internal and external sense bases as objects and subjects, the attachment to the aggregates as cause and effect, and the attachment to the characteristics of the six elements, the respective direct and uncommon reasons were taught. But it is not because all three true attachments arise in all three dharmas that it is necessary to show the reasons in all three dharmas in order to prevent them. Secondly, because it is unreasonable for the dharmas to inherently exist in those four, due to the dimness of ignorance, the eye of wisdom is impaired, and from beginningless time, one is accustomed to wrongly viewing things as existent or non-existent, etc., those who do not have inherent nature, who cannot irreversibly see the non-inverted path, who are in accordance with the path of liberation, but who have lost this ability, those of shallow wisdom. Because of shallow wisdom, they do not understand the extremely profound dependent origination, and therefore think that things are existent, i.e., permanent, or non-existent, i.e., annihilated, thus blinding the eye of wisdom, those people, the peaceful Nirvana that should be viewed is difficult to approach.
