If it is said that there is also the activity of walking in the meaning of both words "stepping" and "walking", then if there is the activity of walking in the meaning of both words "stepping" and "walking", then it would follow that there are two activities of walking. One is by which activity of walking one obtains the name "stepping", and the other is by which person walks on that path, which is the second activity of walking. If it is said that there are two activities of walking, what is the fault? If it follows that there are two activities of walking, then there is the fault that the person who walks also becomes two. The reason for this is that because without the basis of the walker, the activity of walking that is based on it is not reasonable. Activity, whether it is action or agent, depends on its accomplisher, and this activity of walking also exists in the agent. Here, there are two activities of walking, so the way it becomes two walkers is: when Devadatta places his right foot, there must be two activities of placing the foot that depend on the path and the agent at the same time, for the reason as stated before. At that time, there must also be two right feet, and it is the same for lifting the left foot. In this way, even if one Devadatta with two feet is walking, it would become that there are two Devadattas, and since that is not the case, the activity cannot be two either. Therefore, it is not reasonable to say that stepping inherently has the activity of walking. If one Devadatta is sitting, he is also speaking and looking, just as seeing one agent having many activities, thinking that it is not contradictory for one walker to have two activities of walking, then, in response to this, the Prasannapadā says: It is not so, because ability is the agent, not the substance. Because the activities are different, therefore their accomplisher abilities are also different, because the activity of sitting does not become a speaker. The meaning of this is that this and the previous situation are not the same, the reason is that the previous activity is the agent of the substance or person. If the two activities of placing the right foot exist at the same time, then one person with two feet cannot do that, so two people are needed. But when the various activities such as speaking later exist at the same time, then the tongue etc. are needed.

It is the agent of abilities such as and so on. Even if many agents of abilities exist simultaneously, there is no need for many individuals to exist simultaneously. Even if it is so, if it is thought that it is a substance or a person, so one agent produces multiple actions, just as speaking and so on produce multiple actions, there are also multiple agents of its ability, so in terms of its dominance, it is not that one agent produces multiple actions. Even if a substance or a person's agent produces multiple actions, but here it is not a person as an agent, so there is no need to refer to that, it is not that one agent produces multiple actions. Furthermore, because the agent of two similar actions such as putting down two right feet at the same time has not been seen, it is also said that one walker does not have two walks. Some commentators say that if according to the previous statement, it is not possible to deny that a person's substance of a walker has two walking actions, so it is good according to the latter statement. This is refuting the great vehicle (referring to treatises) without understanding how two walking actions will become two walkers, and that substance is not an agent but ability. In that case, temporarily block the act of walking on the road to the place to go with "gone" and so on. The second part has three points: denying the walker as the basis of walking; generally denying walking to the three types of people; specifically denying walking to the walker. The first point is: if the act of walking on the road to the place to go is unreasonable, but because it is said "Devadatta walks", the act of walking can be clearly seen on the walker Devadatta. Therefore, walking is self-existent, because there is a walker as the basis. If the walker does not exist, that is, is excluded, then the existence of walking will not be reasonable, because this has been said before in "because there is no walker". If so, then what is the walking that depends on the walker? The answer is, do not say that the action related to the walker is a different thing from the walker, but say that the walking that has walking, which is called the walker, exists. When examining, if the walking that is different from the walker does not exist, then how can the act of walking with its own characteristics become the existence of the walker?
