Moreover, it has been stated many times, and if (what is said in various places) is combined at once, because the reasons are the same, it should be known that it is necessary to combine even those (statements) that have not been actually combined, and this is also (the author's) intention. In the Commentary on the Words, such as "no cessation, no arising," etc., it is to show that it is not contradictory to the statements that say there is cessation, etc., (i.e.) it says that the nature of the object of uncontaminated wisdom does not have arising and ceasing, etc., and it has already been explained in terms of emptiness that the arising of ultimate truth is prohibited, while the arising of conventional truth is not prohibited. Furthermore, (the Commentary on the Words) also says that the intention of the statements that say things arise from the four conditions is also the same. It also says that the prohibition of the objective condition is also in terms of ultimate truth, and not in terms of conventional truth, so the distinction of what is to be prohibited is very clear, and the number is also large. Therefore, when explaining the meaning of the words, do not be confused because it does not appear many times. In the Commentary on the Hundred Verses, it also says: "If this analysis wants to completely prohibit arising, thereby showing that there is no arising of conditioned phenomena, then, in this case, it will not be like an illusion, but will be measured like the son of a barren woman, etc. Because of the fear of falling into no dependent arising, do not conform to those (views), but conform to illusions, etc., which are not contradictory to it." It is said very clearly. In the Lankavatara Sutra, it also says: "Considering the non-arising of self-nature, I said that all phenomena are unborn." This sentence is quoted in the Commentary on the Words. If self-nature is established, then cause and effect are negated, then cause and effect are merely the establishment of names, and merely the empowerment of nominal terms. As Buddhapalita said at the beginning of the first chapter: "Please show that saying arising is merely a nominal term." And at the end: "Saying arising is merely established as a nominal term." Therefore, if it is thought that cause and effect cannot be admitted for things that are established by self-nature, then no one can deny the cause and effect that can do benefit and harm, so it exists. However, for what exists by self-nature, it cannot be established, so it should be admitted that it is merely the empowerment of nominal terms, and these are reasonable. Because we are too accustomed to establishing on the basis of the self-nature of what is produced and what produces, so when it is prohibited, the empowerment of nominal
