Therefore, there is no doubt that the established sign (rTags grub pa) contradicts what is being established. Therefore, the first two faults are absent. It is not permissible to criticize the acceptance of the meaning of refutation, because the meaning of refutation is also related to the other party, but we are not, because we have no commitment ourselves. Thus it is said, this is not all the extremes thrown by the Madhyamikas, but the extreme of preventing self-origination thrown earlier. The extreme dharma is not only that birth and meaning are irrelevant, but that birth and meaning are again irrelevant, and the meaning of refuting that extreme, again birth and meaning are relevant, which is what the famous others want, but they themselves do not have that commitment, so how can it contradict the tenets because of the reason for committing to that? Therefore, this treatise does not show that the refutation of all the extremes thrown by the Madhyamikas is that the other party commits and oneself does not commit, and that there is generally no commitment. Buddhapalita's word "also" says that birth is meaningless, and its meaning is that when the sprout is in the causal stage, it is thought to be born after it has already obtained its own nature, so it is said that there is no such thing. In the Commentary on the Clear Words, the word "also" is also said, and in the Introduction, it is also said, "If it has already arisen, and is again completely thought to arise, then." Therefore, being and arising again are contradictory, and being and arising are not contradictory. Being and arising together are also the same. Candrakirti showed that the meaning of extreme refutation is not related to himself, which was also considered by Lekden, without considering the extreme of throwing again birth and meaning irrelevant, but thinking that generally birth and meaning irrelevant were thrown, so he said that the meaning of refutation must be committed to. If an extreme that others do not want is thrown, then the thrower must commit to the refutation of the extreme dharma, so it is unreasonable not to commit to the refutation of the extreme dharma, if you say so, then when the one who says no self-nature establishes an extreme to the one who says self-nature, how can it become an extreme that is meaningful from extreme refutation? This is not a general extreme, but two extremes that prevent self-origination. By establishing what is not wanted with those two extremes, the thrower does not necessarily have to commit to the meaning of refutation, because the word shows the meaning not involuntarily, but the intention of the speaker.

And because the one who casts the refutation also only wants to negate the re-arising of things with purpose and contact, that is why the refutation is cast. So, if the Samkhya school thinks that what existed before is merely manifested by conditions as the meaning of arising, and therefore says "the sprout arises," then is the meaning of "the sprout arises" only that? If asked in this way, the answer is "if it has the ability," meaning that it needs to have the ability to show the former and the desire to express it, so there is no fault. Therefore, establishing a refutation is only the result of preventing others' commitments, so there is no change from the refutation to another meaning, it is said that: The refutation mentioned earlier, with the meaning of refuting the opposite, again with the sign of arising with purpose and contact, although it cannot establish that I am unborn, it is not unnecessary, because it establishes the arising without purpose and contact that the Samkhya school does not admit, so it has the necessity of only establishing the severance of the arising from the self that the Samkhya school has committed to. It is like casting such a refutation: If it is admitted that the sprout has a nature established by its own essence, it will not become dependent on the seed to arise, because it exists by its own essence. Therefore, because it arises dependently, the sprout does not have a nature established by its own essence, so there are very many cases where the refutation of the opposite is taken as a sign to establish the refutation of the refutation sign. In this regard, it only cuts off what others have committed to as existing by its own essence, and does not establish other dharmas, which is the same in all cases. This is casting a refutation, but it is not casting a refutation of self-nature, and there are two types of refutation: casting a refutation and not casting a refutation. Therefore, although one admits the established and the establisher of establishing one's own system, one does not admit the established and the establisher of self-nature. So, what is the meaning of self-nature? In the Prajnaloka, in a chapter where others point out faults, Jowo translated it as "saying that independently, or saying it with the power of refutation," so the meaning of self-nature is the meaning of independence. This is also because it is necessary to establish non-self-nature, so when observing the way in which it becomes a valid means for the opponent, all the places where it becomes a valid means.
