If it were another situation, then the continuity of the two would not be reasonable, but the continuity of the former follows the latter, and the continuity as one exists. Therefore, clinging to the past extreme, thinking that the world is impermanent, and thinking that its nature exists, is also unreasonable. The second case is: if this person abandons the human body on one hand and takes the body of a deva on the other hand, then the whole has neither the fault of being permanent nor the fault of being impermanent, if you think so. This is like thinking that the deva and the human of the previous and later lives are the same in terms of life or self, and different in terms of body. If this person is a deva on one hand, that is, from the perspective of self, and a human on the other hand, that is, from the perspective of body. Then, in this case, one part of the deva also exists when he is a human, so it is permanent; and one part of the human is destroyed when he is a deva, so it becomes impermanent. It is also unreasonable for one part of human behavior to be taken by the deva and one part to be taken by the human. Therefore, clinging to the past extreme, thinking that it is both permanent and impermanent is also unreasonable. If both permanence and impermanence are established by nature, then neither permanence nor impermanence is established by nature, which depends on your will. But the point that permanence and impermanence are established by nature has been refuted before, so it cannot be established. Here, the commentator says, if there is a little permanence, then later seeing it become impermanent, it can be established that it is not permanent; if there is a little impermanence, then later it becomes permanent, so it can also be established that it is not impermanent, what do you think is the meaning of this reason? For example, when a person is reborn as a deva, if there is a permanent self of the person, then when he takes the body of the deva, he will abandon the human body. From this point of view, it is not permanent; and the human body is destined to be abandoned, and its nature is impermanent. When he takes the body of the deva, the body is destroyed, but the one who abandons it is permanent. From this point of view, it is also not impermanent, so clinging to the extreme of non-duality, even if there is such a reason, it means that there are no such two situations. This is actually saying that the aspect of "being two" is also said to be the aspect of "non-duality" in different ways. If you think that there is something that has been wandering through continuous cycles of birth and death since beginningless time, and is still wandering, so there is a wanderer who is permanent, and that is the self. If whether it is the "self" or the "skandhas", in the previous life, in whichever realm

If sentient beings are to go elsewhere, and if there is a natural tendency to go to other places, then, although samsara would naturally be established as revolving in samsara from beginningless time, that is not the case. Because, the self or the aggregates are naturally established, whether permanent or impermanent, it is unreasonable to come here from elsewhere, or to go from here to elsewhere, because this has already been discussed in the sixteenth chapter. Therefore, it is unreasonable for the transmigrator to exist naturally. In this way, according to what has been said above, if there is no permanent transmigrator, then what impermanent thing would he become when taking birth, abandoning the previous aggregate? That does not exist. Since permanence and impermanence cannot be naturally determined separately, therefore, the combination of permanence and impermanence, and the exclusion of both permanence and impermanence, i.e., neither of the two, how could it exist in essence? Therefore, it is also unreasonable to cling to the past extreme and to view the world as being neither permanent nor impermanent in nature. Fourth, there are two: refuting the views of extremes of having and not having an end, and refuting the latter two views of extremes. First: if the world of sentient beings has an end at the end of this life, i.e., if it is destroyed and no other sentient beings arise later, then how would the afterlife of sentient beings exist? It would not exist. Because the afterlife exists, it is unreasonable for the world to have an end. If it is said that the world of sentient beings, as it is said that "the end is exhaustion," has no end at the end of this life, i.e., there is no destruction, then how would the afterlife of sentient beings exist? It would not exist. Because the sentient beings of this life do not die, there is no afterlife for them. Therefore, it is also unreasonable for the world to be without end. Because the continuum of aggregates is connected as cause and effect, continues without interruption, and is destroyed at every moment, this continues like the flame of a lamp, therefore, it is unreasonable for the world of sentient beings to have an end, existing after being destroyed at the end of this life, and for it to be without end, not being destroyed at the end of this life. Why? If the previous person's aggregates are destroyed, and relying on this person's aggregates, the realm of the gods...
