That which has the nature of peace is said to be beyond sorrow. Therefore, how can there be any conceptualization that clings to the afflictions and aggregates as being inherently existent for one who desires to transcend sorrow by abandoning afflictions and ceasing the aggregates? As long as these two conceptualizations exist, nirvana cannot be attained, for it is attained only through the cessation of all such elaborations. If one thinks that although there are no afflictions or aggregates at the time of nirvana, these are inherently existent prior to its attainment, and therefore nirvana is attained through the cessation of their elaborations, then if they are inherently existent prior to nirvana, they cannot be ceased later. Therefore, those who desire liberation should abandon this conceptualization, for it will be explained later what the limit of nirvana is, and also in the Samadhiraja Sutra it is said: "In nirvana, dharmas are truly non-existent. Whatever dharma is non-existent there is also eternally non-existent. Being endowed with the conceptualization of existence and non-existence, those who act in this way will never cease from suffering." Its meaning is that in the realm of nirvana without remainder, one is separated from the dharmas of the aggregates, which are characterized by the arising of karma, afflictions, and their results. Therefore, all opponents agree that these are non-existent. The sutra says that those dharmas that are non-existent there are also eternally non-existent, which shows that even at the time of samsara, these are not existent in their own nature. So how does samsara occur? Just as those with cataracts see illusions such as hairs, these phenomena appear to be true to those who are deluded by the inverted thoughts of children who cling to self and what belongs to self, as stated in the last two lines. Among these, clinging to existence is the same as the views of the Vaisheshikas, Samkhyas, and Svatantrikas, which ultimately belong to the Vaibhashika school. And clinging to non-existence is the same as the views of the Naked Ascetics, the annihilationists, and those who say that non-cognitive, non-associated formations do not exist as substances, but that other things exist, and also the view that the imputed nature is non-existent, while the other two natures are existent in their own nature. If the meaning of the first line is that in the realm of nirvana without remainder, the dharmas of suffering and the cause of suffering are non-existent, then the Hinayana arhats, when abandoning the formations of life, would think that the stream of consciousness is interrupted, although they say so, but in their own school,

As for those who also believe that they will eventually attain Buddhahood, how do they consider the presence or absence of residual aggregates in their Nirvana? In the commentary on the "Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning," it says: In the sutra, it says, "Whatever aggregates are completely abandoned, definitely abandoned, purified, exhausted, free from attachment, ceased, pacified, extinguished, no longer connecting the boundaries of other sufferings, and no longer arising, this is peace, this is wonderful, that is, all aggregates are definitely abandoned, craving is exhausted, free from attachment, ceased, Nirvana." Thus, Nirvana is established from the cessation of aggregates. It is said. The meaning of the exhaustion of aggregates is that the explanation of the exhaustion of one aspect of the aggregates, the afflictions, is prohibited, and the exhaustion of the aggregates of suffering in general must be done to be considered the exhaustion of aggregates. Moreover, if it is considered that the continuum of aggregates is exhausted, then when the aggregates are not exhausted, there is no Nirvana to be attained, and when the aggregates are exhausted, there is no one to attain it, thus pointing out the fault of not being able to attain Nirvana. If one sees that the nature of suffering does not arise, then at that time, since that arising is not seen, that suffering will only be exhausted. Thus, when all five aggregates are manifestly seen as not arising by their own nature, at that time, there are no aggregates, which is the meaning of what is said in the sutra, "These aggregates are completely abandoned." Therefore, the Hinayana school believes that when afflictions are exhausted and abandoned, the cessation in which the appearance of aggregates ceases without remainder in the face of equipoise is their Nirvana without remainder, and the time of subsequent attainment when that appearance has not ceased is their Nirvana with remainder. Third, there are three parts: refuting the establishment of Nirvana in the four extremes; showing that the one who realizes Nirvana is not established in the four extremes; and the meaning of their establishment. First, there are three parts: refuting the attachment to the extremes of Nirvana being either real or unreal; refuting the attachment to both extremes; and refuting the attachment to neither extreme. First, there are four parts: refuting the attachment to the extreme of Nirvana being real; refuting the attachment to the extreme of Nirvana being unreal; where to establish Nirvana that has abandoned the two extremes; and the way of criticizing by showing attachment to the two extremes. The first is that the Vaibhashikas say that Nirvana is the obstruction of the continuum of karma, afflictions, and future births, and it is the dam that blocks the flow of water.
