The statement that something is truly established if it is obtained through stainless equipoise is prohibited. The reason for saying "difference of wisdom" is that it is not sufficient to obtain it through whatever wisdom the noble ones have, but something obtained through the wisdom that knows what the difference of wisdom is, is what shows the ultimate truth. The meaning of obtaining is that the knowledge establishes it in that way, which is similar in conventional truth as well. The way in which that wisdom obtains it is: just as when a person with cataracts sees hairs falling in the sky, an eye without cataracts does not even see the appearance of hairs falling in that space, so too, the very self-nature of the aggregates, etc., that are fixated upon by those harmed by the cataracts of ignorance, is seen by the Buddhas who are free from the imprints of ignorance and by the stainless wisdom that measures suchness. Like an eye without cataracts, whatever nature is seen in a way that does not even see subtle dualistic appearances is the ultimate truth. As it says in the Entering [the Middle Way], "Due to the power of cataracts, hairs and so forth, whatever distorted entity is conceived, where the pure eye sees that very nature, just like that, here it is known by wisdom." And in its commentary it also says, "Those very aggregates, etc., are seen by the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who are free from the imprints of ignorance, in whatever way they see their own nature in the way that one sees hairs without cataracts, that is their ultimate truth." Thus, the wisdom of the Buddhas that measures suchness, for things that appear to be obscured by the cataracts of ignorance, it is said that they do not see them, just as an eye without cataracts does not see hairs. The second has two parts: refuting the argument that seeing the suchness is not proper, and refuting the argument that seeing the allness is not proper. The first is: If the wisdom of the Buddhas that knows the suchness obtains the ultimate truth, then in the Entering Commentary it says, "If it is not the case that such a nature is not seen, then how do they see it?" Although it is true, it is said that they see it in the way that they do not see it. Therefore, it is said that they see suchness in what they do not see at all, and as a means of knowing this, all ultimate truths are

It is also quoted that (suchness) is beyond the realm of wisdom. If it is said that in the realm of the Buddha, the arising of mind and mental factors ceases forever, how does this not contradict? The so-called "seeing in a way of not seeing" means that it is not that one does not see anything at all, which has been explained in the fifteenth chapter. In the "Entering the Two Truths," it says: "Sons of the gods, the ultimate truth is endowed with all perfections and transcends the realm of the wisdom of the all-knowing. It is not like saying 'it is the ultimate truth.'" This means that when saying "it is the ultimate truth," it is not seen as the appearance of the object and the subject separately in the mind. This is the source of the cessation of dualistic appearance, not the source of the Buddha not realizing the ultimate truth. The commentary on the "Entering the Middle Way" also says: "Without touching fabricated things, but only directly realizing the nature itself, one understands that very nature, therefore one is called Buddha." This means that the Buddha, with the wisdom of knowing the suchness, does not touch otherness, but only understands the nature of reality. The cessation of the arising of mind and mental factors is said in the "Clear Words" to refer to the cessation of the arising of conceptual thoughts, which has been explained before. Furthermore, the commentary on the "Entering the Middle Way" says: "If the nature does not exist, then the bodhisattvas' practice of austerities to realize it would be meaningless, which is established by both scripture and reason. As it is said, what is their nature? It is their unconditionality and independence from others, which is the self-nature to be realized by the wisdom that is free from the obscuration of ignorance. Who would say whether it exists or does not exist? If it does not exist, then why would the bodhisattvas practice the path of the perfections? Because the bodhisattvas strive so hard to practice hundreds of thousands of austerities in order to realize that nature of reality. As it is said, noble son, the ultimate truth is unborn, unceasing, indestructible, uncoming, ungoing, not to be expressed by letters, not to be described by letters, and not to be realized by elaboration. Noble son, the ultimate truth is inexpressible and peaceful, and is the realm of the noble ones.
