Just as it exists in Lapa (la pa) but is not allowed to enter. Alternatively, conventional truth is a symbol, a term of the world. That is, since it is described as having characteristics such as what is said, what says, knowledge, and what is known, the term of the possessor should not be taken merely as knowledge and speech. If one thinks, since it is said "worldly conventional truth," what is the need to say "worldly"? Is there also a non-worldly conventional truth? The answer is, saying "worldly" is not to exclude the existence of non-worldly conventional truth, but to state how things exist as they are. On the other hand, due to impaired senses from things like cataracts, blue flies, and yellow eyes, what is seen is contrary to reality, and those who abide in that are not the world in whose presence truth is established relative to those objects. Therefore, the objects that deceive the senses by things like cataracts are not true as they appear relative to the world. To distinguish from that, it is said "worldly conventional truth," thereby stating the difference of truth. The meaning is also that, and the sublime is also that, so it is the ultimate truth. It sees that very thing as it is, and is not deceptive in its presence, so it is true. Secondly, here it is said in the Clear Words that one should learn from the part where the two truths are elaborated, so I will explain its meaning a little. Among them, the knowable is the basis of division that distinguishes the two truths. Conventional truth and ultimate truth are the nature distinguished from it. To determine the meaning of each division, there are three points: explaining conventional truth, explaining ultimate truth, and showing the determination of the number of the two truths. The first point has three points: explaining the meaning of the words conventional and truth, the definition of conventional truth, and the classification of conventional. The first point is: So, what is conventional? What is truth? To this, in whose presence is form and so on established as the conventional truth? It is ignorance, which clings to the self-nature of phenomena that is not established by its own nature as existing. Because it is impossible for things to be truly established, establishing it as true is in the presence of consciousness. Because it is impossible to establish it as true in the presence of non-truth-clinging consciousness. As it is said in Engaging in the Bodhisattva's Deeds: Because delusion obscures self-nature, it is conventional.

Whatever appears falsely as true is said by the Muni (Shakyamuni Buddha) to be the conventional truth. Things that have become false are conventional. Here, in the commentary on the "Entering the Path of the Bodhisattva," it says: 'Thus, for the time being, the conventional truth is established by the power of ignorance, which is completely encompassed by the limbs of existence.' That is to say, for those who have abandoned the ignorance of afflictions, such as Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas, the nature of actions, images, and so on, is false, but not the truth, because there is no arrogance that appears to be true. For children, it is deceptive, but for others, like illusions, it becomes merely conventional by the very nature of dependent arising. Therefore, those who establish the existence of conventional truth establish it as existing through ignorance, and it is not shown that Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas who have abandoned the ignorance of afflictions do not establish conventional truth. The first reason is as previously stated, because the ignorance of afflictions is the grasping of reality, so the object it grasps cannot exist even in name. If it is the conventional truth, then it must exist in name. Therefore, if it is said that phenomena exist conventionally, then the conventionality of establishing existence must not be the conventionality made by the ignorance of afflictions. The second reason is that for those who have abandoned the conventionality of the ignorance of afflictions, there is no conventionality of grasping reality from whose perspective it is established as true. Therefore, actions are proven to be untrue in their view, but it is not proven that they are not conventional truth. Therefore, in their view, actions are said to be merely conventional, because, in their view, among the two, conventional and truth, there is nothing that can be established as true, so the word 'merely' cuts off truth, how can it cut off conventional truth? Thus, the truthfulness of conventional truth is only from the perspective of the conventionality of ignorance. As Chandrakirti's treatise says: 'It is true in the conventional, therefore it is the conventional truth.' This means that from the perspective of the conventionality of ignorance, it is established as true in the name of what is to be done for truth.
