Since it is empty of its own nature, the four inversions such as selflessness are also knowable inversions because they inherently exist, just like the self and so on. Therefore, those who desire liberation should abandon all eight inversions. Fourth, as previously explained, examining whether inversions inherently exist or not with reason is of great significance. As previously explained, when a yogi does not perceive inversions, the inversions will cease, and when they cease, their cause, ignorance, will cease. When ignorance ceases, all subsequent branches of existence, such as actions, will cease, because they are all caused by ignorance. Second, if that is the case, since those who abandon afflictions such as ignorance inherently exist, and the afflictions inherently exist, will the stream of existence also inherently exist? If abandoning afflictions inherently exists, then it would be so, but it does not exist. Like this, if some afflictions of some individuals inherently exist, how can they be abandoned by an antidote? It is impossible, because what path can abandon what inherently exists? This cannot be refuted, because nature is irreversible. If some afflictions of some individuals do not inherently exist, how can they be abandoned? This is also impossible, because if it is established by its own characteristics, then if there is no inherent nature, it is completely non-existent, and what antidote can abandon what is completely non-existent? It is impossible, just as no one can extinguish fire with cold. Although in our own system, it is considered most reasonable to abandon what is empty of inherent nature with an antidote, there are two ways to show that abandoning what inherently exists is unreasonable to the opponent: one is as previously explained, and the other is to blame from the standpoint of the opponent's admission that abandonment is of its own nature. All similar situations should be understood in this way. Second, in this way, it is established by reason that afflictions such as attachment, along with their causes and conditions, and objects and subjects such as permanence and impermanence, are all without inherent nature, and this can also be proven by profound scriptural statements. Similarly, everything explained in the scriptures can be explained by this reasoning.

To explain this, let me mention some aspects of the scriptures of definitive meaning and the methods of combining them. In the Sutra Requested by Steadfast Excellent Intention, it says: 'Son of good family, some monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen who have not yet generated and arisen in the dharmas, contemplate ugliness, impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. Those should also be viewed in the same way. Do not say that I am meditating on the path for those foolish people, for that is called a wrong path.' For example, seeing an illusory woman, mistaking her for a real woman, and generating desire, then contemplating ugliness, etc., on that woman is given as an example and taught. Also, in the same sutra, it says: 'Son of good family, young ordinary people, because they do not know the limit of desire, fear the terror of the limit of desire, and seek to escape from the limit of desire. Because they do not know that the limit of hatred is nothing at all, they fear the terror of the limit of hatred, and completely seek to escape from the limit of nothing at all. Because they do not know that the limit of ignorance is emptiness, they fear the terror of the limit of ignorance, and completely seek to escape from the limit of emptiness. Do not say that I am meditating on the path for those foolish people, for that is called a completely wrong path.' Thus it is said. Third, for things established by their own characteristics, due to discriminating lovely objects, etc., afflictions arise, and clinging to permanence, etc., the distinction between inverted and non-inverted is completely inappropriate, as is abandoning afflictions, etc. Because things that exist by their own nature are empty, it is necessary to understand that all of these are very reasonable. The Explanation of the Twenty-Third Chapter of the Treatise called "Examination of Inverted Views," which is the nature of twenty-five verses. Second, refuting the arguments against it is divided into two parts: examining the truth and examining nirvana. The first part is divided into two parts: explaining the text of the treatise and summarizing the meaning and stating the title. The first part is divided into two parts: the argument and the answer to it. The first part is divided into two parts: the argument that arising and ceasing are not reasonable, and the argument that cause and effect are not reasonable. The first part is divided into three parts.
