Saying "it is not other than existent" refers to self-origination associated with the proof of "existent," and it is not, because negating it actually establishes it, like explaining the latter two lines as the proposition and the former two lines as showing the sign, do not do it like that, the other three are also the same. If self-origination exists, then as its proof, one must acknowledge any of the four kinds of origination, so it is said "proof of existent." If the four kinds of origination are negated, then the negation of self-origination is also naturally established, so combining it like that has no fault of self-origination not being established, this is the meaning of the last sentence. Therefore, unlike what is said in the Madhyamaka Aloka, it is not permissible to use the negation of the four kinds of origination as a sign to prove the non-existence of self-origination, but rather to sever them separately as before, this is not the meaning of that treatise. Because it is a word with the essence of definite grasping, it has definite grasping, and also the definite grasping like "only not from self-origination" must be placed at the end, in that case, it will become merely not originating from self, wouldn't it become not wanting to originate from other? There is no fault, because the word "only" intends to express merely the complete severance of non-affirming negation from self-origination, and also prevents other-origination from not being from other. This is the same for the other three propositions, because all four propositions are non-affirming negations, so the definite grasping of the negative word is not merely severing the negated thing, but it means not abandoning other dharmas. Origination has two definite divisions of having cause and not having cause, having cause is further divided into three definite divisions of fruit and cause being either the same nature, different nature, or both together, so the proposition negating self-origination is sufficient with four. The second part is divided into two parts: showing the definitions of the two negations, and thinking about which of these two negations is the probandum of the sign. The first part is: Lekden said that all four, such as "not from self," are non-affirming negations, and Lhawa also said that "not from self" is a non-affirming negation, the other three propositions are also the same. Generally, negation is to be understood by the mind actually severing the negated thing, so like severing "non-self," merely severing the thing that is negated is not negation, but like dharmata and ultimate truth, although the negated thing is not actually severed in language,
