As for what, since it is established by its own nature, none of their establishments are reasonable, like dreams and illusions and emanations and Gandharva cities, being empty by being established by their own nature, it is only on that that one should understand that the agent and so on are very reasonable. The explanation of the seventeenth chapter, which is the nature of thirty-three verses called "Examination of Actions." Third, there are three ways to enter the reality of selflessness: explaining the tenets of the treatise, combining them with definitive teachings, and summarizing the meaning and indicating the name. The first has five: the way to enter reality, refuting the teachings that contradict it, the order of leading to reality, the nature of reality, and showing that this meaning must be definitely proven. The first has two: establishing the unique view, and the order of reversing faults by meditating on it. The first is: Here it is said, if afflictions and actions, etc., are like Gandharva cities, etc., although they are not reality, they appear to children as the aspect of reality, then what is reality here? And how is it to enter reality? Since inner and outer things are not perceived, the grasping of self and what belongs to self in inner and outer is completely exhausted, that is reality. The extensive explanation of entering reality is from the "Entering the Middle Way": All afflictions and faults arise from the view of the collection of destructible things, knowing that this is the object of observation, the yogi should destroy the view of the collection of destructible things. One should understand as it is said, and here it is Only a part of the root is explained. This has two: refuting that the self is established by its own nature, and thereby also showing that what belongs to the self is also refuted by being established by its own nature. The first has two: the way a liberation seeker first examines, and then the way to establish the view of selflessness. The first is: In the order of the Four Noble Truths, the Truth of Suffering and the Truth of Origin, when one first meditates on the general and specific faults of samsara, the yogi wants to enter reality and wants to abandon the faults of samsara, such as birth, old age, and death, and all the afflictions of faults such as desire, then

If one sees that if the cause does not change, the result will not change, one will contemplate what the root of this samsara is. Upon investigation, it is seen that samsara has the view of the perishable aggregate as its root, and it is seen that by abandoning it, all afflictions and faults can be reversed. So, how should one abandon the view of the perishable aggregate? In general, all treatises show the harm to the object of how the inverted mind grasps it, and then reverse the grasping of that object. In particular, in this treatise, it is examined whether the self grasped by the view of the perishable aggregate is the same as or different from the aggregates, and where it exists. By refuting the object, it is said that the grasping of self and what belongs to self is reversed. And in the Hundred Treatises, it is also said: "If one sees the selflessness of the object, then the seed of existence will be cut off." It means that one must be liberated from bondage by seeing the selflessness of the self that is grasped by self-grasping. And in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, it is also said: "If this object is not refuted, then it is not possible to abandon it." Therefore, all the great chariot masters have one intention and one voice on this point. Therefore, if one does not know how self-grasping grasps the self, and how to refute the grasped self well with immaculate reason, but only gets used to withdrawing the mind from grasping self and what belongs to self, it is unreasonable to want to be liberated from samsara. Because although this does not enter the object of self-grasping, the self, it also does not enter the meaning of selflessness, so getting used to this does not harm self-grasping at all. If that is the case, then even if one obtains an unerring view of the meaning of suchness, one does not need to meditate on it, so all the statements in the scriptures and treatises that establish the view of suchness will become meaningless. Even if it is like that at the time of hearing and thinking, one cannot say that it is not necessary to be like that at the time of meditation, because what is established by hearing and thinking is precisely for the purpose of familiarizing the mind with the view at the time of meditation. And the Yogacara-bhumi-sastra says: "The yogi should stop the self." Therefore, the yogi practitioner should do that. Therefore, I think that abandoning the view of the perishable aggregate depends on establishing that the object it grasps has no self-nature. And, seeing that its object is also the self, therefore, the object of grasping the self is the self.
