2. Refuting the existence of inherent existence. Refuting the arguments for the existence of inherent existence. The first part has two: first, the fault of becoming permanent and uncreated; second, the fault of producing endless results. The first part has two: first, the actual fault; second, stating the harm of admitting this. The first part is: It must be admitted that karma does not exist inherently, otherwise, if karma were established by its own nature, it would undoubtedly become permanent, because there is no other change in its own nature. Therefore, karma becomes uncreated by the agent, because there is no action by the agent in permanence. Therefore, virtuous and non-virtuous actions will mature in the world without being created. The second part has two: first, contradicting the scriptures; second, contradicting worldly fame. The first part is: If karma is not created by the agent, then those who have not committed killing and so on will also be in danger of encountering the results of uncreated karma because they are related to those karmas. For pure practitioners of Brahmacharya, because there is uncreated impure Brahmacharya, therefore, in that aspect, it will also become a fault of not abiding in Brahmacharya, so no one will be liberated from suffering. The second part is: Efforts made for the sake of the fruits of farming and trade, etc., are all meaningless because they exist without being created. And all worldly sayings such as "make a vase" and "take a blanket" will undoubtedly contradict each other, because everything such as vases exists without being created. The distinction between "this is a virtuous person and this is an evil person" is also unreasonable, because both exist even if they are not created. Second: Furthermore, even if that karma has matured, it will produce results again and again, because it has not disappeared from its own nature as in the case of immaturity. Therefore, if you think that karma is inherently existent, then because karma will never disappear at any time, the faults mentioned above will occur, so karma does not exist inherently, so there is no fault of permanence and annihilation. The second part has three: refuting the argument for the inherent existence of karma. Karma and afflictions both

Refuting the argument for the self-existence of karma. Refuting other arguments for the self-existence of karma. The first is: If karma is self-existent, because of ignorance it is created, as it is said in the scriptures, it exists because of acceptance, then the cause of karma, afflictions, is self-existent, is that so? Answer: Leaky karma, its nature is affliction, it arises from affliction. And those afflictions are not truly existent, because they arise from the power of discrimination. If those afflictions are not truly existent, then how can the karma caused by it be truly existent? It is not. The second is: Karma and afflictions are self-existent, because its result, the body, is self-existent, is that so? Answer: Karma and afflictions, as stated in the sutras, are the cause of bodies. If karma and afflictions are self-existent, then it has already been said before that it is emptiness, it has already been established. Their result, the body, is not self-existent, then what is the use of the remaining words? What is there? There is nothing. The third is: Karma is self-existent, because its result, the one who experiences happiness and suffering, is self-existent, is that so? Obscured by ignorance, that is, covered, repeatedly reborn in the five realms, sentient beings are connected with the bonds of craving, that is the experiencer of the result of karma. The experiencer of the result is also not different from the creator of the cause, the experiencer is also not the creator of karma, because it is unspeakable one and other, is that so? Answer: Because this karma arises from the four conditions such as the cause, it has already been said that it is not self-existent, it is dependent origination. What does not arise from dependent origination also does not exist, without a cause there is no result, and the cause is also unreasonable. As it has been said to examine karma, therefore the creator of karma is also not self-existent. If karma and the creator are not self-existent, then how can the result arising from karma, self-established, exist? It will not exist. If the result of karma is not self-existent, then how can its experiencer be self-existent?
