Just as money that has been spent, whether it still exists or not, cannot be used again to attract wealth. Similarly, the imperishable (Tibetan: ཆུད་མི་ཟ་བ་) also, once it has ripened into its result, whether it still exists or not, cannot again connect the doer with the fruition. This is what the Vaibhashikas accept, as stated by Avalokiteshvara the Silent Ascetic, which differs from the Kashmirian view. The second part has four points: the classification and nature of the realms, what should be abandoned, the manner of arising, and the manner of ceasing. The first point is: As stated in other sutras, the "imperishable" that we speak of has four aspects based on the classification of the desire realm, the form realm, the formless realm, and the unconditioned realm. If we differentiate based on the distinctions of karma belonging to the three realms and the unconditioned, it can be known as conditioned and unconditioned, but the essence of the "imperishable" cannot be expressed as conditioned or unconditioned, so it is uncharacterized, as stated by Avalokiteshvara the Silent Ascetic. Saying that it is not conditioned refers to the karma being conditioned, not merely the conditioned itself, because it is to be abandoned by cultivation. This "imperishable" also cannot be expressed as virtuous or non-virtuous, so it is uncharacterized. If the non-virtuous "imperishable" is said to be non-virtuous, then just as in the desire realm, if one is free from attachment, there is no non-virtue, so its "imperishable" would also not exist. If the virtuous "imperishable" is said to be virtuous, then for those with wrong views who have cut off the root of virtue, it would also not exist. The second point is: This "imperishable" is not to be abandoned by abandoning what is to be abandoned by seeing on the path of seeing, but is only abandoned by cultivation. The word "also" includes the abandonment of the "imperishable" of karma belonging to that realm when transcending the realm. If the karma of ordinary beings is not abandoned by the path of seeing, then noble ones would possess the karma of ordinary beings, so although it is abandoned, its "imperishable" is not to be abandoned by seeing. Even if the karma has perished, its "imperishable" will not disappear; even if the karma has been abandoned, its "imperishable" will not be abandoned. Therefore, the "imperishable" of those karmas will generate the fruit of karma. If someone thinks, what fault is there if the karma is abandoned by an antidote or the karma has perished, and the "imperishable" is abandoned or perished? If the karma of ordinary beings is abandoned by abandoning what is to be abandoned by seeing, or the karma has transformed, that is, perished, then their "imperishable" will also perish. Then, in that case, the karma that was done will perish, that is,

Therefore, it merely becomes something to be consumed. Those noble ones, encompassed by the word "etc.," will not experience any of the fruits of karma accumulated during their time as ordinary beings. Even if they do experience it, the fruits of uncreated karma will arise. Because they view karma and its fruits as non-existent, they will fall into the fault of becoming wrong views. Similarly, this should also be applied to the transference of karma. Third, how does the undiminished arise at the time of linking the intermediate state? Karma is a part, i.e., of the same kind, and a part, i.e., all the undiminished of different kinds, that is, when linking the intermediate state in any of the three realms, all karmas are broken down, and only one arises. That is, only those of the same realm, such as the desire realm, i.e., those of the same realm, can arise, not those of different kinds. After linking the intermediate state, the way the undiminished arises is that the undiminished is in this life of seeing the Dharma, all of the two kinds of contaminated and uncontaminated, i.e., thought and, thinking or virtuous or non-virtuous karma and the undiminished of karma, each different one arises, and even after the fruition has matured, it remains, i.e., it will not be consumed, it will not cease. Fourth, the undiminished, that is, there are two occasions when it is destroyed and gone, i.e., at the time of the transference of the fruit of stream-entry, etc., and at the time of death it will cease, and the first of these is, that it is also the abandonment through meditation itself, and the second is, that at the time of linking the intermediate state, only one arises. It has already been said, so it is not mentioned again here. The classification of the undiminished is, it should be known that there are two kinds, i.e., the uncontaminated is of uncontaminated karma, and the contaminated is of contaminated karma. This is also under the control of the two karmas, thus establishing the name, said Avalokiteśvara the ascetic. Third, therefore, karma ceases immediately after it is done, and existence by its own nature is not, so it is reasonable to establish emptiness. Even so, it will not be cut off, because it is completely held by the undiminished, so there is the fruit of karma. Because there is the undiminished, and because there is no examination similar to the continuum of seeds and the Dharma, therefore, beings and kinds and birthplaces and realms are various.
