I admit it. Children believe that things that have no self-nature have self-nature, and they only see that dharma and do not see other dharmas, just like clinging to the self-nature of fire as being hot. They also speak of self-nature, because they say that their own self-nature is self-nature. In order to teach them through nominal terms, the Abhidharma establishes that the self-characteristics of those things are conventional truth, while impermanence and other things that are common to other dharmas are general characteristics. Although heat is the nature of fire and impermanence is the nature of conditioned things, these do not exist in nominal terms, but from the perspective of whether they are common or not, self-characteristics and general characteristics exist in nominal terms as stated in the scriptures, which is our school's view. Therefore, the difference between existing by self-characteristic or by self-nature, and the unique self-characteristic, is very great. The commentary says that in order to teach them through nominal terms, the Abhidharma explains self-characteristics and general characteristics, because children believe that the characteristic of any dharma is the nature of that dharma, so they are not prevented, but two characteristics are explained to them. This does not mean that, just as believing that the heat of fire is its nature, the Abhidharma also establishes the nature of those things as two characteristics, because the "Entering the Middle Way" says: "The Buddha abandoned those ways of wisdom, and similarly abandoned what is said in the Abhidharma." The commentary also says that the Abhidharma equally shows the five aggregates through the distinction between self-characteristics and general characteristics, while the "Prajna Sutra" says that the five aggregates are all empty of self-nature, so they are undifferentiated in ultimate truth and differentiated in nominal terms. Moreover, the heat of fire is not the nature of fire, which is not admitted even in nominal terms. Therefore, like the heat of fire, this is not denying one's own view and saying it is another's view, but because the heat of fire and the self-nature of fire are not distinguished and are clung to as one, this itself is not established in one's own school, so it is merely established as another's view. Second, if it is said that because it is made, it is not self-nature, then what is the characteristic of self-nature? What is self-nature? Here it is said that one's own essence is self-nature, so whoever is the owner of any thing,
