Consciousness and form, the two, and not only that, but all three also simultaneously contact each other, which is not naturally existent. Just as it is said about the three, such as viewing, so also desire and what is desired, or desire and what is to be desired, or attachment and what is to be desired, the two and all three also cannot simultaneously contact each other, it should be viewed in this way. Thus, as it was said before, the remaining afflictions, hatred and ignorance, etc., and the remaining sources of birth, the listener and the one who listens and what is to be listened to, etc., also combined in three ways, the two and all three contacting each other, which is not naturally existent. The second (part) is divided into two: refuting contact by the non-existence of otherness by nature; refuting contact by analyzing one and different. The first (part) is divided into three: establishing the proposition; applying this principle to others as well; establishing the reason. The first (part): If contact exists by its own nature, then mutually it must also exist as other by its own nature, thus establishing the reverse pervasion. Because the other is not naturally existent in what is to be viewed, etc., therefore, contact is not naturally existent in them, thus stating the proposition. The second (part): Moreover, not only are the objects that are to be viewed, etc., existing as cause and effect, the other is not naturally existent, but also any object such as a pot, a blanket, etc., together with any companion, as the other itself, it is not reasonable to exist by its own nature. Therefore, mutual contact is also not naturally existent in them, which is shown through meaning. Because the author wants to show that contact is not naturally existent in all things. The third (part) is divided into two: establishing the reason; and eliminating the faults against it. The first (part): The other that is said as the pot is different from the blanket, is established as the other relying on the other blanket. If it is not dependent on the blanket, then the pot will not be different from the blanket, thus all the other that is established must be established relying on the other, which is previously established. Whatever dharma exists relying on anything, then it cannot be naturally different from the thing it relies on, thus universally stated.
