Since there is attachment to following after yellow, the meaning of non-mixture is that the pillar of the morning does not exist in the afternoon, which is the meaning of time non-mixture. If there is a pillar in the morning, it is not the meaning of contradicting that there is also a pillar in the afternoon. One's own touching the east, therefore not touching the west, is the meaning of place non-mixture. If one touches the east, it is not the meaning of contradicting touching the west. The nature of variegation not existing in yellow is the nature of non-mixture. If variegation and substance are the same, it is not the meaning of contradicting that yellow and substance are the same. If it is not like that, what is the nature of variegation? That does not exist in yellow. That is not a fruit-bearer, but different. Both also exist. Thus, the scriptures would become internally contradictory, because it has been promised that if those two cows and substance are the same, those two cows will also become substance the same. Thirdly, the objects to which the terms "common" and "basis-common" apply, and the objects of convention, are determined. Firstly, the basis to which the terms "it is a cow" and "this is a white cow" apply is only what is imputed by conceptual thought, and not a self-character, because the reasoning explained earlier harms it. Therefore, "Those meanings that exist in consciousness, have such different natures," etc., and the meaning of "That which is called common and particular, this distinction is in the object of consciousness," etc., is that the basis to which the terms "common" and "basis-common" apply is shown to be the meaning of sound that has become the object of conceptual thought, and it is not shown that if those are the case, they are necessarily not self-characters, because for clear self-characters, there are two each of common things that follow after them, and things that have become real and things that have become unreal. For example, for the clarity of following after pots, there is the other-exclusion of things that are different from non-pots, and the exclusion of consciousness, which appears in conceptual thought as different from non-pots, these two have become the basis of nominal meaning. There is no fault in oneself asserting that it is a common real thing, and the reason why harm applies to the Samkhyas etc. is that the Samkhyas assert that the chief thing that has become the nature of blue is also the nature of yellow, and is the reality and the ultimate truth, and generally assert it, and also assert that the nature of yellow is also the nature of blue, therefore harm is spoken.

Also, when (we) see blue, since the nature of things is the same, from where does the idea of different natures arise? Etc., for the idea of not confusing blue and yellow, it is unreasonable to think that it appears as different, because the self-nature of blue and the self-nature of yellow are the same. And, if the universal is admitted in this way, it will become partless, therefore the fault of simultaneous arising and ceasing will occur, but these faults do not apply to the general admission that the universal is a clear single entity. The subsequent does not produce results. What is clarified by etc. is that since the following is fabricated, it shows that results will not arise from it, not that it adheres to pervasion. Similarly, the Vaibhashika who admits that the universal is a different entity also admits that it follows the variegated, therefore following the yellow and white, it will become impossible to distinguish the parts, and they also admit it in this way. If the universal is not admitted as partless, then it will not have later parts either. Etc., it is unreasonable to say these faults. The second is that, like the example of a white cow, it is the basis on which the term "cow" is based, and because the term is established on the basis of one, everyone understands, and the establishment of the term is for the sake of nomenclature, both internal and external agree, but the reasons for understanding are not the same. Buddhists believe that the term is established on the exclusion of things other than cows, and that (term) follows all the appearances of cows without distinction, so there is no need to establish a term for each appearance. Other schools say that since there is a partless universal on which the term is based in all things, after establishing a term for one, they see that universal in other appearances as well, so they understand it as a cow, so there is no need to establish a term for each appearance. In general, sounds are used to indicate terms, which are established for the sake of nomenclature, at that time there is no self-characteristic, so no terms are established for it. Etc., if these meanings are not certain, such doubts will arise: Since the cow for which the term is established does not follow at the time of nomenclature, no term is established for the cow at the time of nomenclature. If no term is established, the cow at the time of nomenclature will not be understood as a cow. If it is not understood, then the previously established term is also meaningless, because it was established for the sake of nomenclature. If the meaning of that treatise is understood as, it is not appropriate to establish a term for the self-characterized cow at the time of the term, because it is a name
