Therefore, there is not even a little bit of inherent existence. Therefore, there is no arising from self, no arising from other, and no arising from both self and other. In short, the aggregates and the person, as dharmas, do not inherently arise, because they do not arise from self, nor from other, nor from both, nor from no cause. This is a detailed proof of the subject-property. Second, the reasoning of dependent origination is: what is considered true and designated by the afflictive ignorance of delusion, what difference is there between this thing and illusion, dream, and image, etc.? Because while being empty of inherent existence, it appears to be inherently established. Whatever the illusionist conjures, such as illusory horses and cattle, and whatever is conjured by the causes and conditions, if it were inherently established, then at the time of birth it would have to come from elsewhere, and at the time of cessation it would have to go elsewhere. So, examine from where it comes and where it goes, because there is no inherent existence of coming and going. Therefore, persons and aggregates, as dharmas, do not inherently exist, because they are dependently originated. For example, like an image. Whatever fruit, such as formations and sprouts, is seen to arise in proximity to whatever cause, such as ignorance and seeds, and if those causes do not exist, it does not arise, because it is artificial, so it is the same as an image, how can it have true establishment? It does not. With the four "illusion" verses, the pervasiveness of the sign of dependent origination is established. Then, with three and a half lines, the reasoning is explained, then with half a line, the example, and finally the proposition is shown. If you want to know in detail, you should learn from the great commentary on the Entering the Middle Way. Third, the reasoning of negating existence and non-existence, arising and ceasing. After establishing the reasoning, the inherent existence of arising is refuted, and thereby the inherent existence of ceasing is refuted. Therefore, the equality of samsara and nirvana is established. First, if things inherently exist, then what need is there for a cause? Because what inherently exists does not need to be produced. However, if the fruit does not exist, then what need is there for a cause? Because it cannot be produced. All fruits do not exist at the time of the cause, so they are entirely arising.

It is not merely preventing arising, but preventing the arising of utter non-existence. Preventing the arising of an existing effect is also preventing the Samkhyas' view that the effect exists in the cause at the time of the cause, and preventing the view that it mostly exists by its own nature. To say that because it has already arisen, it does not need to be produced again, is beyond the scope of reason. Therefore, we accept cause and effect that are empty of inherent existence, like illusions and reflections. To prove that non-existent things cannot be the object of the action of a cause, if it is said that existing things do not need to be produced, then why do non-existent things not arise? Even with hundreds of thousands of causes, non-existent things cannot be transformed into existent things, because no one can transform non-existent things into existent things. If it were to change, would it be without abandoning the state of non-existence, or after abandoning it? If it is the former, how can the state of non-existence be an existent thing, since the states of being able to function and not being able to function are contradictory? If it is the latter, there is nothing else that can be transformed into existence other than existence and non-existence. Furthermore, if the state of non-existence is not abandoned, then when it does not exist as a thing, it is impossible for it to exist as a thing. When will the thing exist, since the thing has not yet arisen at the time of non-existence? Also, if it changes after abandoning the state of non-existence, then before the thing has arisen, the non-existent things will not separate, and if it does not separate from the non-existent things, then the time of existence is impossible, because the two states are contradictory. Just as non-existent things do not transform into existent things, existent things do not transform into non-existent things, because if half is existent and half is non-existent, then it would be a fallacy that one thing has two natures. These reasons prevent all arising from nothing. Sprout, subject, does not arise by its own nature, because things that are established by their own nature do not arise, and things that are not established by their own nature do not arise. For example, the son of a barren woman. Preventing the arising of things that do not exist at the time of the cause is also because, although it does not exist at the time of the cause, it prevents arising in a way that is established by its own nature at the time of arising, thus distinguishing the object to be refuted. The second is, as mentioned above
