A person with little learning does not properly adopt or abandon the Dharma as it should be. A person who enjoys commotion likes to associate with many people, such as householders and renunciants. A person who enjoys talking only focuses on talking without practicing the meaning of what they have heard. A person who enjoys working likes farming and other activities. A person who enjoys elaboration likes arguing. Third, the way to avoid causing harm through this method is: As stated in the Noble Jewel Cloud Sutra, "If you do not avoid harm, you will also fall in this life." Third, the way to avoid causing harm in this life is: How is all of this attained? By abandoning fruitless actions. That is, all of the above-mentioned avoidance of various harms is accomplished by abandoning actions that do not benefit others. Therefore, these actions should be abandoned. This is confirmed by the Moon Lamp Sutra, the Ten Dharmas Sutra, the Noble Collection of Correct Dharma Sutra, the Noble Akashagarbha Sutra, and the Inexhaustible Intellect Sutra. If one wonders, how is the abandonment of actions that do not benefit others accomplished? It is accomplished through constant mindfulness. That is, it is accomplished by relying on mindfulness and awareness in the training, so one should rely on the twelve mindfulnesses, etc. If one asks, how is such mindfulness accomplished? Mindfulness arises from great reverence. That is, it arises from reverence for the training from the depths of one's heart. If one asks, how is reverence accomplished? Reverence is the greatness of peace. If it is known, steadfastness arises. One will know how to meditate correctly, as the Buddha said. By preventing external agitation, the mind becomes unmoving from peace. That is, preventing all natural decline and accomplishing all perfections depend on the three trainings, and the root of the three trainings lies in seeing morality as the root. This is confirmed by the Noble Inexhaustible Intellect Sutra and others. Second, guarding against harming others: By subduing all that is untamed, and with appropriate and gentle speech, fortunate beings will be pleased, and those worthy of being embraced will arise. That is, faith will arise from restraining the misconduct of body and speech, and words will be worthy of being heeded.

As for "transformation," it is quoted from the Sutra of Gathering the Correct Dharma. If it is not done in this way, what fault will it become? That is not something that should be accepted, Despising the sprout of the victorious ones of the world, like a fire covered with ashes, Burning sentient beings in hells and so on. This means that misdeeds of body and speech will despise Bodhisattvas, and despising will lead to falling into evil realms, and this cause is created by oneself, so one will also have faults. If one commits misdeeds, it will harm oneself and others, so it is taught to abandon them. Therefore, the Victorious One said in the Sutra of Total Retention: Whatever causes sentient beings to become unbelieving, one should strive to abandon. This is declared from the Cloud of Jewels Sutra. Abandoning the obstacle of total retention, causing sentient beings to become unbelieving. The Cloud of Jewels Sutra says. This is confirmed by the Sutra of Gathering the Correct Dharma and so on. Second, relying on the conditions that benefit this life, that is, relying on medicine and clothing, etc. This means that one should rely on regular medicine and medicine for sudden illnesses, as well as medicine for treating diseases, etc., and also rely on clothing, dwellings, and mantra to protect oneself. This is confirmed by the Noble Cloud of Jewels Sutra and so on. When enjoying these, one should also think of enjoying them for the benefit of others. If one enjoys them with attachment to oneself, one will fall into afflictions. That is what is said. This is confirmed by the Sutra of the Moon Lamp. Second, guarding enjoyment: One should strive for good deeds, And be content with everything. In this way, from this foundation of learning, it is not difficult to guard enjoyment. This means that first, when accumulating and guarding, one should not mix with sins, and one should strive for good deeds that become a cause for virtue, and when oneself and others enjoy what has been accumulated, one should be content with a small amount of bad things, and not enjoy a large amount of good things. This is confirmed by the Sutra of the Fierce Question and so on. Third, guarding the root of virtue: By abandoning the attachment to ripening for oneself, one can guard all virtues. This means that first, when accumulating, if it is for oneself, and if one aims at the higher realms to be obtained in the end, the power of the root of virtue will be small, so one should do it for others, and aim at the Buddha fruit to be obtained, so that the power of the root of virtue can be made great when accumulating at the beginning.
