These are the teachings from the Mother Tantra. Such a way of establishing the definitive and provisional, although different from what is established by the Ornament of Sutras, is in accordance with what is taught by the Samadhiraja Sutra and the Inexhaustible Intelligence Sutra. In the King Dharnindra Asked Sutra, it says: For example, just as a gem cutter gradually purifies a gem by washing it three times and wiping it three times, so too, the Victorious One, knowing the realm of impure beings, uses the words of impermanence, suffering, selflessness, and impurity to make those who are disgusted with samsara generate renunciation and establish them in the Vinaya. After that, with the words of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, they are made to comprehend the truth of the Tathagata's words. After that, with the words of the irreversible wheel and the three wheels of complete purity, those beings are made to enter the realm of the Buddha. Those beings with various causes and natures enter together and comprehend the Dharma-nature of the Tathagata, and are therefore called the unsurpassed objects of offering. What is said here is not the same as the meaning of turning the wheel of Dharma three times, because this is the order of leading a person first into the Hinayana, then placing them in the Mahayana realm of the Buddha, and finally attaining Buddhahood. The three wheels of Dharma are established according to the different dispositions of those to be tamed by the Mahayana and Hinayana. As it says in the Compendium of Sutras: This sutra also leads those of the Hinayana to eventually enter the Mahayana and attain Buddhahood, thus proving that ultimately there is only one vehicle. Therefore, the first two stages both lead into the Hinayana, so the selflessness of the first stage, as it says in the Four Hundred Verses: Before teaching the view of emptiness, in order to tame the continuum, the selflessness of the four teachings such as impermanence is taught, which is similar to the selflessness of the self that has become independent. Irreversible means that after entering, there is no need to go to another vehicle. If the explanation of the Vijnanavada is the meaning of the sutra, then the explanation of the Madhyamaka, which is not in accordance with it, is also the meaning of the sutra, which would lead to the speaker contradicting himself and also negating the meaning of the sutra. If one thinks like that, then, relying on conditions, the prohibition of killing is the meaning of the Hearer Vehicle.

Is it or is it not? If not, then there would be no difference in the Vinaya Pitaka of the Greater and Lesser Vehicles regarding permission and prohibition of killing. If it is, then considering certain necessities, killing is permitted, and this is also the meaning of the Mahayana Vinaya Pitaka, so the speaker would be self-contradictory. If someone says this, how should one answer? For the disciples of the Lesser Vehicle, killing is never allowed. But for some special cases of the Mahayana, the permission to kill is the speaker's intention, so there is no contradiction. If someone says: For some Mahayana beings, who are temporarily not suitable vessels for fully explaining the profound meaning, considering their minds, (all dharmas) exist as established by their own nature. But for the disciples who are able to fully understand the profound meaning and are suitable vessels, considering this, what contradiction is there in saying that all dharmas are not established by their own nature? As it is said in the sutra, "The father and mother are killed." Although the literal meaning is not the intended meaning, the meaning that the speaker wants to express is desire, just like that, there is no obstacle here. Because the speaker wants the disciples here to accept the directly shown meaning. Therefore, a meaning to be expressed must be shown here, and there is no other meaning to be expressed other than the literal meaning, so the directly shown meanings must be expressed, and by pointing out the harm to the literal meaning, it is proved that it is not the ultimate meaning, which is what is desired. Therefore, there are two situations: one is that it is both the meaning to be expressed in the scriptures and the intention of the speaker, and the other is that although it is not the intention of the speaker, it must be established as the meaning of the scriptures. Secondly, if the classification of the three natures is explained according to the Yogacara school, then are the three natures mentioned in the chapter of Maitreya's Questions also recognized in the same way? If not, then the objects in the sutras should not be understood literally, just like the explanation. If not, then it is said in that sutra: Maitreya, all imputed forms should be viewed as unreal. All dependent forms should be viewed as real, because discrimination is real, but it is not produced independently. All perfect forms are neither unreal nor real, and are completely
