Isn't that so? The answer to that is, regarding the meaning of applying names and terms to form, etc., is it the nature of form, etc., or is it merely a designation? When asked, "It is merely a designation," the answer was, "Then, as in the previous question, what is your thought?" This shows that even though there is no self-established nature, the object that is the basis of the name exists, and merely applying a name to it is not contradictory. Then, when asked, "If form, etc., are merely names and terms, will the nature of form, etc., still be apprehended?" This shows that the previous statement, "If it is merely a designation, then the nature will not be apprehended, right?" is contradictory. The answer is that even if one says it is merely a designation, one must acknowledge the basis of designation and the designator, and if so, the nature of form, etc., must exist, so it is not contradictory. The answer to that is, if it is merely a designation, does it have arising and ceasing, and defilement and purification? When answered no, then how can it be reasonable to ask if the nature exists when it is merely a designation? After that, as previously stated, in response to the question, "Do form, etc., not exist in any way?" the answer was that the negation of nature, arising and ceasing, and defilement and purification is on the ultimate level. On the conventional level, form, etc., exist, so merely applying a name is also on the conventional level, so how can it be consistent with the interpretation of the hidden meaning and the way of explanation? The venerable teachers also considered that this chapter does not explain the Prajñāpāramitā Sutra as definitive, and the reason for explaining it with the interpretation of the hidden meaning is that it also shows that all phenomena do not exist on the ultimate level, but exist on the conventional level, so it seems that it cannot be taken literally. It is not contradictory to what is said to be "other-powered substantially existent," because one must first understand how the three natures are taught in that sutra, so it will be explained. In that sutra it says, "Maitreya, whatever is the object of the characteristics of conditioned phenomena, for that, relying on names, concepts, designations, and terms called form, etc., and completely clinging to the nature of form, that is the form that is completely imputed." And so on, "These are the Buddha-dharmas that are completely imputed." Thus, the completely imputed is identified. Relying on, means that with the meaning of applying a name, focusing on form, etc.

The so-called "thinking on that" means that it is not thinking with it, but showing where the nature of thinking is, which is the imputed. The imputation is also the same, that is, from the object of the aspect, it is manifested and spoken only based on the discriminating mind that abides in the nature of the imputation, that is, to whom it is said that this is form, is feeling, is thought, is action, is consciousness, and even the names, thoughts, establishments, and conventions between the Buddhadharmas, all of which are the imputed form. From "is" to "these are the imputed Buddhadharmas", it is the determination of imputation. Among them, the so-called "that thing" refers to the meaning of what is said. The way of speaking that speaks of it based on discrimination is "form", etc. Thus, by saying the name of that speech as imputation, the meaning of what was said and the discrimination that were shown earlier should also be included in imputation. Therefore, this is imputation, and this is the basis of imputation. The nature of the law is also the same, that is, by what is imputed by the form of the imputed, the form of the imputed, constant, constant time, firm, firm time, only is no self-nature, and the law is selfless, and suchness, and the real edge, that is the form of the nature of the law. From "is" to "these are the Buddhadharmas of the nature of the law", it is the determination of the nature of the law. Among them, the selflessness of the form of imputation and the selflessness of the law are the form of the nature of the law. That Dharma is also, with the form of imputation, the form of the imputed, is self-nature and selfless, therefore, the non-existent self or self-nature is the imputed. With constant and so on, it shows that at all times it is empty with this. This principle is said in the Commentary on the Introduction, the snake is not on the rope, so it is imputed, and the real snake is completely established, that is, it has never been imputed on it. Thus, self-nature is also, in the dependent arising of the other-powered, it is the imputed, because self-nature is uncreated, and it is said that it does not depend on others. In the realm of the Buddha, it is real, because it has never been imputed, and has not touched the self-nature of the creator of things.
