In the cognition stated as "because the reason for being unreasonable is that the other party has not admitted," citing these arguments is also for the Madhyamikas, not admitting establishment in the ultimate sense, or the unreasonable cognition of not admitting self-character establishment. If it does not exist or is unreasonable, then the reason for self-continuation is unreasonable, which is refuting self-continuation, not just refuting the reason for establishing what is to be established. The so-called dualistic grasping refers to saying that the truth to be refuted and the refutation of refuting it are true, and saying that self-character exists and does not exist at all, and also dualistic grasping like what was said before, a total of three ways are said. Second, if the subject, reason, and example of self-character establishment are all impossible, If according to that, not only is the reason for self-continuation unreasonable, but any action is unreasonable. However, after refuting it, for the way in which establishing the establisher of what is to be established, etc., all actions are reasonable, what reason is there not to admit the reason for self-continuation and the action to be established? In response to this, the Clear Word Commentary explains from the reasoning of refuting self-continuation and the way in which the other party also actually admits that reasoning, and pointing out faults, that is, three reasons that are not the same as one's own statement. Among them, Legden said, in the ultimate sense, the internal sources of generation, etc., are definitely not born from self, because they exist, just like the existence of consciousness. If "in the ultimate sense" is added as a distinction of the thesis, then one has not admitted self-generation even in the conventional sense, so there is no need to add it relative to oneself. If relative to others, then heretics who have fallen from the two truths should be refuted from the perspective of the two truths, so it is good to refute without adding distinctions. In worldly terms, one should not refute wanting self-generation, so it is also unreasonable to add distinctions relative to it, because worldly people only want the result to arise from the cause, and will not think about which arises from self and other. In addition, if one wants to refute that the eye, etc., admitted by the other party in the ultimate sense also arise in the conventional sense, then at this time, the basis is not established, and it will become the fault of the subject and the reason, because one has not admitted the eye, etc., in the ultimate sense. If the ultimate eye, etc.

If you say that even if it is not established, there is no fault because there are conventional eyes, etc. Then, what is the difference of what is called ultimate? If you say that the conventional eyes, etc., prevent arising in the ultimate, so it is the difference of preventing arising. That is unreasonable, because it has not been said that way, and even if it is said, it will become the fault of the opponent's thesis not being established. Thus, it was refuted. To avoid that fault, if the Buddhist proves to the Vaisheshika that sound is impermanent, if he does not hold the difference of the universal, then what is to be proven and what proves it will not exist. Like this, if you hold the sound of the future arising as the subject, then it is not established in the Vaisheshika, and if you hold the sound of the quality of space, then it is not established in the Buddhist. Therefore, just as one holds a general sound, abandoning the difference, as the subject, abandoning the difference between the ultimate and the conventional, and holding only the eyes, etc., as the subject, there is no fault of the subject not being established, they say. As an answer to that, the nature of the subject of the eyes, etc., is not obtained merely by reversal, but is promised by the wise one himself. And, showing the reasons that reversal and non-reversal are different, that is, contradictory, etc., it was refuted. The meaning of those is that the eyes, etc. When proving that it does not arise from itself, one cannot posit only the eyes, etc., abandoning the difference between the two truths, as the subject. Because the valid cognition that measures that subject is the consciousness that is not mistaken about the nature of the eyes, etc., consciousness, consciousness that is not reversed is the state of not being mistaken about the nature. Because in the object it obtains, there is no reversed knowable, and there is no false appearance that appears there, even though it does not exist in its own characteristic. If the former reason is admitted, then, for any existent, according to the tenet that it exists by its own nature, if it relies on the appearance of its own characteristic and falls into confusion, then it cannot establish its own object of measurement as obtained. Therefore, whether it is conceptual or non-conceptual valid cognition, wherever it becomes valid cognition, it is necessary that it is not confused about its own characteristic in the appearing object and the grasping object. At that time, it is necessary to measure not only the meaning named in name, but also the nature or self of the state of the thing itself, and this is also what one admits. If it is the meaning obtained by such a valid cognition, then it contradicts the knowable being reversed, so it is the latter reason.
