Just as the intention of entering the Middle Way is established in the root text and commentary, seeking the meaning of the term 'person' through the sevenfold analysis, it is considered that there is no nature that cannot be found, so it is very different from other explanations. This seems to be the very essence of Buddhapālita's commentary. The second point has three parts: the common and uncommon differences between the realization of selflessness and subtle and coarse self-grasping, etc.; the common and uncommon differences of establishing external objects and not accepting the ālaya-vijñāna and self-awareness; and explaining the uncommon difference of not accepting svatantra. The first part is: Thus, when seeking the meaning of the terms 'self' and 'dharmas,' one cannot find even a little bit of one and other, etc. However, offerings, etc., and the terms 'eye,' etc., must also be determined, so there is no essence that is not established by the power of terms, and all the establishments of samsara and nirvana are very reasonable on the basis of being established as existent by the power of terms. This establishment of the two truths is the supreme characteristic that surpasses other commentaries in explaining the intention of the noble father and son Buddhapālita and Chandrakīrti. Existence and birth, etc., in terms are established in this way by the power of terms, as it is said in the Dharma Samgraha: 'Son of good family, those who dwell in the world are manifestly attached to birth and cessation. Therefore, the Tathāgata, the Great Compassionate One, in order to completely abandon the place of fear of the world, said that birth and cessation occur by the power of terms. Son of good family, in this, no dharma is born.' And it is also said in the Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness: 'Staying or birth, destruction, existence or non-existence, inferior or equal or distinguished, the Buddha speaks by the power of worldly terms, but not by the power of reality.' As it is said in the Land Sutra and others, like existence in worldly terms, the Madhyamikas must establish it in terms, and the worldly terms are the establishment of sprouts arising from seeds, etc., but they do not seek how the meaning of the term is, from self or other, what arises, etc., but simply establish it as such. The noble ones also explain it in the same way, and the meaning of the worldly term that has not been analyzed is first

It seems that it is established in this way according to the way of explaining the existence of a person. Because establishing as a person something different from the aggregates and merely a collection of aggregates, etc., is absolutely not permissible for the sake of worldly conventions. Because self and what belongs to self are established like master and servant in the world. The way that person and dharma do not exist and exist in the ultimate sense is like that, and the two selflessnesses must also be done as explained. At that time, if the tenets assert that the self of phenomena exists, then there is no place to realize the selflessness of persons, therefore it is also said in the Engaging Commentary: "If one does not abandon the clinging to the self of phenomena, one will not realize the selflessness of persons." Therefore, hearers and self-realizers must also realize the two selflessnesses. This is the noble laughter of the noble ones, as it says in the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning: "One is not liberated by existence, nor is it from this by non-existence, by fully knowing existence and non-existence, the great being is liberated." It means that as long as one does not abandon the view of existence that clings to phenomena as existing by their own nature, and the view of non-existence that sees that cause and effect, etc., are not permissible, one is not liberated. Because liberation is through knowing the reality of existence and non-existence, which is free from the two extremes. The so-called liberation cannot be directly said to be liberation from the obscurations of knowledge, because it says "from this." Similarly, it also says in the Precious Garland: "Thus, like a mirage, the world is said to exist or not exist, clinging to that is foolishness, if there is foolishness, one is not liberated. The one who exists goes to the good realms, the one who does not exist goes to the bad realms, because of fully knowing as it is, not relying on the two, one attains liberation." It means that to be liberated from samsara, one must abandon the two extremes of existence and non-existence. Therefore, in the Great Vehicle, it is said that the non-duality of the apprehended and the apprehender is the selflessness of phenomena, and for the wisdom of the two emptinesses, the nature is not negated, and for that also, the selflessness of phenomena that negates the nature, the two, coarse and subtle, are spoken of, just like making a non-definitive meaning. Similarly, in the Hearer's Basket, the two, coarse and subtle, of the selflessness of persons are also spoken of, the subtle selflessness should be regarded as definitive, because all the reasons are the same. After doing that, the way of establishing the two obscurations of self-clinging is also different, because the Middle
