Thus it is considered. In the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning, it says: Those who, without relying on anything, cling to the existence of self or the world, alas, they are robbed by views such as permanence and impermanence. Those who rely on things and wish for them to be established thereby, they also have faults such as permanence. How can those things arise without changing? Those who rely on things, seeing them like the moon in water, considering them neither truly real nor false, they are not robbed by wrong views. It is said that because it is not truly established, the view of permanence is abandoned; because it can perform its own function, the view of annihilation is abandoned, but it is also not the wrong view of not being able to do so. Therefore, those who both consider these internal and external phenomena to be empty of inherent existence and say that emptiness is the conventional emptiness of annihilation, are vehemently asserting that dependent arising is free from both permanence and annihilation, which contradicts both of the two great chariot traditions. Many who boast of being Madhyamikas also think that this is in accordance with their own view that conventional phenomena are empty of their own nature, both of which are a reversed grasping of the meaning of self-emptiness. They also proclaim: We have no means to show that the dependent arising of internal and external phenomena is free from permanence and annihilation. Outsiders who claim that phenomena are permanent and do not accept dependent arising, thus believing that phenomena are truly established, this is their own doctrine, and there is nothing to be surprised about. However, if one accepts dependent arising, which arises and occurs in dependence on causes and conditions, and then believes that it is truly established, that is truly a cause for laughter. The Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning says: If those who claim existence cling to things and abide, that is abiding on their own path, and there is nothing to be surprised about. Those who rely on the Buddha's path and proclaim impermanence to all, if they cling to things through debate, that is what is amazing. This shows that those who think that on things that are without truth and self-nature, one cannot establish characteristics such as arising and ceasing, are said to be a cause for laughter. This dependent arising, free from permanence and annihilation, is very difficult to understand, so the Teacher also thought that if I show others the profound Dharma that I have realized, they will not understand it, so it is better to remain silent and not speak. The Root Verses says: Therefore,
