Therefore, it is good to prohibit without distinguishing by reason. In worldly terms, it is not appropriate to prohibit the desire for self-generation, so it is not appropriate to make distinctions based on that. Because worldly people only think that the result comes from the cause, and do not consider whether it comes from self or other. Furthermore, if the opponent wants to deny that things like eyes, which are considered ultimately, arise even conventionally, then at that time, the subject (dharmin) not being established will become a fault of the proposition (paksha) and the sign (hetu). Because one does not accept eyes, etc., as ultimately true. If it is said that even if ultimately true eyes, etc., are not established, there is no fault because conventionally true eyes, etc., exist. Then, what is the difference of the term "ultimately true"? If it is said that it is the difference of preventing arising because it prevents conventionally true eyes, etc., from arising ultimately, that is not reasonable because it has not been said that way, and even if it were said, it would become the fault of the subject (dharmin) not being established for others, thus it is refuted. To avoid that fault, if Buddhists prove to the Samkhyas that sound is impermanent, they do not hold the distinction of generality, because if they did, there would be no thesis and proof. Like this, if the sound that will arise is held as the subject, it is not established for the Samkhyas, and if the sound of the quality of space is held, it is not established for the Buddhists. Therefore, just as a general sound that abandons distinctions is held as the subject, there is no fault of the subject not being established by abandoning the distinctions of ultimate and conventional and holding only eyes, etc., as the subject, they say. In response to that, the nature of the subject of eyes, etc., is not obtained merely through reversal, but is accepted by the well-endowed one himself, and it is refuted by showing that reversal and non-reversal are different, i.e., contradictory, etc. The meaning of those is that eyes, etc. As the subject for proving that it does not arise from self, it is not permissible to establish only eyes, etc., abandoning the distinction of the two truths. Because the valid cognition that measures that subject is the consciousness that is not mistaken about the nature of eyes, etc., and consciousness, and consciousness is non-reversed, i.e., the state of not being mistaken about the nature. Because in the object obtained by it, the false appearance that appears there is non-existent, while the knowable is non-existent in the reversed self-nature.

If. The way to accept the previous reason is: Whatever exists, if it goes astray relying on the appearance of its own characteristics in the doctrine that it exists by its own nature, then it cannot establish its object to be measured. Therefore, whatever is a valid cognition, whether it is conceptual or non-conceptual, wherever it becomes a valid cognition, it must not be mistaken about the self-characteristics of the appearing object and the object of attachment. At that time, it is necessary to measure not only the meaning that is merely named in name, but also the nature or self-nature of the thing's own state, and it is also accepted by oneself. If it is the meaning found by such a valid cognition, then it contradicts the fact that the object of knowledge is perverse, so the latter reason is established. Similarly, if it is the meaning found by the mistaken consciousness, then it also contradicts the fact that the object of knowledge is not perverse. Therefore, the fault of the unestablished subject cannot be avoided. If the valid cognition that measures sound is determined to be either permanent or impermanent, it is not necessary to establish the valid cognition that is distinguished by either the impermanent valid cognition or the permanent valid cognition as the valid cognition that proves the subject sound. Similarly, although it is determined that consciousness is either mistaken or not mistaken, it is not necessary to establish it by distinguishing it by either of the two when showing the valid cognition of the subject to be proved. Similarly, although sound is determined to be either permanent or impermanent, and the valid cognition that measures sound has not found sound to be either permanent or impermanent, it is not contradictory to measure sound. Similarly, although the eyes and so on are determined to be either perverse or not perverse objects of knowledge, and the valid cognition that measures the eyes and so on has not found the eyes and so on to be either perverse or not perverse objects of knowledge, it is not contradictory to measure the eyes and so on. Therefore, if it is thought that the reason why the eyes and so on alone cannot be taken as the subject is unreasonable, then such doubts are not necessary to arise even for the virtuous and other scholars who speak of reality, so Chandrakirti did not make a statement to eliminate them. However, since such ignorant debaters as in the present time will have this doubt, if it is explained, then at the time of judging whether the matter is established by the valid cognition, the so-called established by the valid cognition, if it is a non-conceptual valid cognition, then it must be understood that the matter is established as it appears to itself, and if it is a conceptual valid cognition, then it must be understood that the matter is established as it is determined or attached to itself, and it must be understood in whatever object it is shown. This is the meaning of non-mistakenness, that is, the thing as it appears to itself, and its own determination.
