By striving in this pioneering endeavor, may whatever merit I have accumulated, like Nagarjuna and Asanga, may I uphold all the sacred Dharma for a long time. In this way, the Buddhas are pleased, and like the sons of the Buddhas, the wise Manjushri, may I also practice all the great practices. Thus, the manifest Nagarjuna, with the principle of no self-nature, and the great Asanga, with the principle of only consciousness, after opening the two great chariot traditions, to clarify the distinction between the provisional and definitive meanings of the scriptures, this is called "The Essence of Eloquence." This was written by the Shakya monk, the learned and intelligent Shar Tsongkhapa Lobsang Drakpa, and the scribe was the monk Sönam Lodrö, who is diligent in discipline. Mangalam! Svasti!
