If asked, what is taken as the main reasoning? Answer: In this system, the proof that refutes the refutable is based on the proof of non-apprehension of contradictories, except for a few. Moreover, relying on what is said in the *Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra* and the *Sūtra of the Meeting of Father and Son*, it is established solely by the proof of being separate from one and many, as explained in the *Madhyamakālaṃkāra*. In the *Madhyamaka-āloka*, the vajra splinters, the refutation of existence and non-existence, the refutation of the four extremes of origination, and the separation of one and many are also mentioned. The reasoning of dependent origination is also mentioned, which is the proof of apprehending contradictories. The ultimate limit of showing contradictions to others is: for whatever is accepted by one's own and others' schools, it is shown that it is impossible to be without many parts such as the parts of time, the parts of place, or the aspects of the object of knowledge. After establishing that it has many parts, it is not contradictory in the conventional sense that one dharma has the nature of many parts, but if it is established in the ultimate sense, then if the parts and the whole are different entities, they are unrelated, and if they are the same entity, then all the parts become one, and the fault of becoming many wholes is shown, thereby refuting the establishment of dharma in the ultimate sense. Āryadeva said, "In the parts, there is no difference from the fingers," etc., which is explained by exerting effort on these reasonings. For example, in refuting other-origination, it is also determined as either permanent or impermanent, thereby refuting origination from permanence. For impermanence, it is divided into simultaneous and non-simultaneous, thereby refuting origination from simultaneity. For non-simultaneity, it is divided into destroyed and not destroyed, thereby refuting origination from destruction. For origination from what was not previously destroyed, it is divided into whether there is an interval or not, thereby refuting origination from an interval, and these refutations are relatively easy. Then, for origination from what is without an interval, it is divided into whether there is no interval in all of its essence or whether there is no interval in some respects. If it is like the former, then two things with time must be mixed, for example, if two particles of dust that are attached have no interval in all of their essence, then they must be mixed in one place. If it is like the latter, then having parts will become conventional, as explained in the *Madhyamaka-āloka*. The ultimate limit of showing harm is this refutation by examining the one and the different of parts and wholes. Therefore, even in refuting something like other-origination, there are many doors of reasoning that show harm. Ācārya Śāntarakṣita, in the two truths, the actual meaning of the reasoning that refutes true establishment

The ultimate harm caused by preventing the four births is also similar to Śāntarakṣita and his son. These are also the great paths of reasoning that follow the noble Nāgārjuna, so those who wish to broaden their minds in reasoning should study them. If you understand these reasonings from the perspective of Svātantrika, then the reasonings of other schools will also be easily understood, so it will not increase the difficulty. Second, how the Prāsaṅgikas explain the intention of the noble ones is divided into two parts: how to explain whether persons and dharmas have inherent existence or not, and to point out what is the main reasoning for refuting establishment in ultimate truth. The first part is divided into three points: explaining the difference between refuting the inherent existence of persons and dharmas, and based on that, explaining the unique way of interpreting the intention of the noble ones, and eliminating the contradictions between this way and the sutras. The first part is divided into two points: explaining that the refutation of inherent existence established by its own characteristics is special, and identifying the object to be refuted and then explaining how it does not exist. The first point is: When the teacher Buddhapālita wrote the commentary on the Root Wisdom, although Lékden pointed out many faults, he did not point out the faults from the inconsistency of the two selflessnesses. Avalokiteśvara the Silent Ascetic also said: In conventional truth, the interdependence of inner and outer is like an illusion, capable of acting, and knowing that in ultimate truth there is no inherent existence, this is how the noble father and son, Lékden, and Buddhapālita, etc., the speakers of the Middle Way, have taught the Perfection of Wisdom. Therefore, the two teachers are the same in the way that things exist as illusions in conventional truth and have no inherent existence in ultimate truth. Jñānagarbha, Śāntarakṣita, Kamalaśīla, and others also did not explain that there is a difference in selflessness between the schools of Buddhapālita and Candrakīrti and their own schools. Candrakīrti believes that Buddhapālita has explained the intention of the noble ones as it is, so there is no difference between him and himself in the way of establishing ultimate truth and conventional truth. And he said that his own school is different from the explanations of other Madhyamikas, as it is said in the Commentary on the Entrance to the Middle Way: Just as the Dharma of emptiness has never appeared in other treatises except for the treatises of the Middle Way.
