This dependent arising was taught by the Thus-Gone One, shown closely by the incomparable one, the meaning of the holy is exhausted therein. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, relying on worldly conventions, has truly established all kinds of things. Thus it is. In its auto-commentary it says: The ultimate meaning is exhausted in saying that all things that arise dependently are empty of inherent existence. As it is said, if the ultimate truth is accepted, then apart from the difference in what is to be refuted, it is not reasonable to establish the ultimate truth merely by severing the self of what is to be refuted on the basis of dependent arising. Because the two tracks of a wooden cart are the same, it is not reasonable to establish an ultimate truth other than that. If that itself is also considered to be true, then in the Root Wisdom it says: Those who see emptiness, it is said that they cannot be subdued. Thus, it is said to be a view that cannot be healed, and in the Praise Beyond the World it is also said: In order to abandon all conceptualizations, you show the nectar of emptiness, but whoever clings to it, that itself is greatly despised by you. Thus it is said to be a place of great contempt. The two, the dharma-nature dependent arising and the dharma-nature ultimate truth, exist as the support and the supported, which is the object of nominal consciousness, but not the object of the wisdom consciousness of equipoise without outflows, so it is not contradictory that the meaning of that dharma-nature exists, but the dharma-characteristic does not exist. The way in which dharmas abide by their own characteristics, when examining the ultimate meaning, if there is an ultimate meaning, then if there is no dharma-characteristic, the dharma-nature has no power to exist independently, so the dependent arising of other-power is established by its own nature and is empty, then the perfectly established also does not become its own characteristic, as the former school also says. This school also says the same: Since the compounded is not completely established, how can the uncompounded be established? Thus it is said. In the sutra it says: If even the nature of form is not seen, how can one see the thusness of form? Thus, both schools have repeatedly stated. In the Sixty Reasoning it says: Nirvana is the only truth. Thus it is said that that alone is true, and all compounded things are false and deceptive dharma-characteristics, so the untruth of what is said, the meaning of deception here is said to be deception, so the opposite of that, the meaning of truth is also non-deception, but when examining whether the nature is established or not,

The truth that exists by my own nature is not so. Deception is like pretending to bestow benefits when it is not, and enticing others, which is called deception. Similarly, these conditioned phenomena, although not established by their own nature, appear as such and deceive children, so they are called false or deceptive. Nirvana, the ultimate truth, is that in the face of its manifest realization, it does not appear as before and is without deception, so it is called non-deceptive or truth. If other schools do not accept the dependent arising of beings and phenomena, but believe that these two are true, they will fall into the abyss of eternalistic and nihilistic views. Even if they accept these two as dependent arising, if they believe that it is established as such or established by its own nature, then these own schools will also be influenced by eternalistic and nihilistic views. Therefore, if one wants to be free from eternalistic and nihilistic views, one must accept that beings and phenomena arise dependently, like a moon in water, and are empty of inherent existence. This way is considered the supreme gateway to abandoning eternalism and nihilism. As it is said in the "Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning": "Those who, without dependence, Cling to self or the world, Those poor beings are robbed By views of permanence and impermanence." "Those who, having depended, Wish things to be truly established, Those also have the fault of permanence, How can those arise and not change?" "Those who, having depended, See things like a moon in water, Not truly, not falsely, Those who accept without inversion, Are not robbed by views." As it is said, because it is not truly established, it abandons the extreme of permanence, and because it can perform its own function, it abandons the extreme of annihilation, and it is also not a perversion of being unable to function. Therefore, these internal and external things are also considered empty of inherent existence, and if one says that emptiness is a conventional annihilation emptiness, then it contradicts the two great chariot systems that diligently prove that dependent arising is free from permanence and annihilation. Many who claim to be Madhyamikas also think that this is the same as their own view that conventional phenomena are empty of inherent existence, both of which are a misinterpretation of the meaning of self-emptiness. They will also proclaim that we have no way to show that these internal and external dependent arisings are free from permanence and annihilation. Outsiders who claim that things are permanent do not accept dependent arising, so they believe that phenomena are true.
