It is like the non-arising as explained in the Madhyamaka appearance. The self-character is the completely imputed, because there is never any arising on that. Self-non-arising is dependent on others. The non-arising of other changes is the perfectly established. Non-arising of afflictions is the attainment of the knowledge of exhaustion. The special non-arising is the Dharmakaya of the Buddha. Explaining the reason for the absence of inherent existence and the manner of non-arising in this way is the tradition that does not like to interpret literally that all dharmas are empty of inherent existence in the ultimate sense and that conditioned things do not arise in the ultimate sense. Among them, the reason for the absence of inherent existence of the dharmas of the three times, except for the present, and the earlier reason for the absence of inherent existence like the attachment of children, is common to both the Hearer schools. The Vaibhashikas believe that after something has arisen, the activity of abiding occurs, and after that, the activity of ceasing occurs. If someone says, "If the *Sandhinirmocana Sutra* says that dependence on others is like illusion, and the *Ornament for Clear Realization* also says that all conditioned things are like illusion, then the truly established is not the meaning of those," there is no certainty that explaining things as being like illusion and so on does not show the truth, it depends on how illusion and so on are used as examples. Moreover, the *Ornament for Clear Realization* says: "Just as illusion is, so is the non-real completely conceptualized, the appearance of illusion, thus it is said to be twofold." This verse shows the way of using illusion as an example. The basis of illusion, such as clods of earth and trees, is blessed by the mantra of illusion, just like the dependent on others of the completely conceptualized, this is the meaning of the first two lines. The appearance of illusion, appearing as the form of horses, cattle, etc., is like the dependent on others appearing as the duality of grasper and grasped, Asanga explained that this is the meaning of the latter two lines. Again, the *Ornament for Clear Realization* says: "Just as that is not in that, so is the ultimate thought, just as that is the object, so is the conventional." Just as there are no elephants etc. in illusion, the absence of the duality of grasper and grasped in dependence on others is the ultimate truth, just as illusion takes the nature of horses and cattle as its object, that which is not real, the completely conceptualized, that is the object of the conventional truth, the commentary explains it this way. Again, the *Ornament for Clear Realization* says: "The six internal sense bases, no self and life, etc."

Similarly, in terms of its appearance, it is an illusion; the six external sense bases, although they are not to be used by the self of a person, are said in the sutras to be like a dream in terms of their appearance, but the conditioned phenomena of inner and outer, although empty in nature, are not given as examples of appearance. In the Compendium of the Great Vehicle, the examples of illusion, etc., mentioned in the Mother Sutra are also combined with the meaning of the examples showing other-emptiness. In order to dispel the thought of how to focus on an object if there is no external object, illusion is given as an example; in order to dispel the thought of how mind and mental factors arise if there is no substance, mirage is given as an example; in order to dispel the thought of how to accept or reject pleasant and unpleasant things if there is no substance, dream and other examples are given. When using illusion, etc., as examples of untruth, one should also distinguish between the ways in which Madhyamaka and Cittamātra each use them to exemplify untruth, without confusing them. Second, the Middle Beyond Extremes states: "The unreal conceptualization exists, in it the two do not exist, emptiness exists in this, it also exists in this, neither empty nor not empty, therefore all is explained, because of existence, because of non-existence, because of existence, this is the Middle Way." It is said that the first verse explains the nature of emptiness, and the second verse explains that this is the Middle Way. Among them, where there is nothing, it is empty of that, and what remains here is what is here, like this, knowing existence and non-existence as they are is entering emptiness without inversion. This also shows the true emptiness because it shows that. The so-called "where" refers to the basis of emptiness, which is the unreal conceptualization, which is other-emptiness. The so-called "nothing" refers to the two, the grasper and the grasped, which are different substances, which are the imputed. The so-called "in it the two do not exist" means that the former is emptied by the latter. If there is not that, then what is the existence of the remainder left behind? The so-called "conceptualization exists," and the third line, shows that it is the two, other-emptiness and perfect establishment, and the fourth line cuts off other doubts. Vasubandhu explained the meaning of what is empty and by what it is empty in this way, and Sthiramati clearly showed this in the commentary, some people think that all dharmas are like rabbit horns, and their nature does not exist at all.
