Oh! So, should it be said that conceptualization exists in conventional truth, or should it be said that it exists in ultimate truth? The answer is, it should be said that it exists in conventional truth. Then, how do these statements not contradict each other? How they do not contradict will be explained: Like this, there are two ways of establishing existence in conventional truth and ultimate truth. The first is: existence established by the power of terminology is existence in terminology, and what is not established by its power but exists by its own nature is established as existence in ultimate truth. As the sutra says many times, 'That is also by the power of worldly terminology, but not in ultimate truth.' This has become the basis for the Madhyamaka school and other schools that assert substantiality to argue about whether existence exists or not in ultimate truth and conventional truth. If we rely on this, then the first nature mentioned earlier exists in conventional truth but does not exist in ultimate truth; and the latter two natures exist in ultimate truth but do not exist in conventional truth, so it is stated as before in the *Yogacarabhumi-sastra* and the *Compendium of Determinations*. Moreover, the *Compendium of Determinations* says: 'For the object of consciousness that abides in the name that is fully accustomed to manifestation, the object of the name of form, etc., which exists as the nature of form, etc., that by its nature does not exist in both substance and ultimate truth. Therefore, for the nature of those phenomena with the name of form, etc., those natures do not exist, and whatever is imputed by that should be understood as existing by imputation.' For the object of consciousness of the name that is eliminated from the name that is fully accustomed to manifestation, the object of the name of form, etc., which exists as the inexpressible nature, that should be understood as existing in both substance and ultimate truth as well.' It is also said like this. Regarding the imputation of substance, the *Compendium of Determinations* says: 'Whatever it may be, that does not depend on others, does not rely on others, and establishes its own nature, that, in short, should be understood as existing as a substance. Whatever it may be, that depends on others, relies on others, and establishes its own nature, that, in short, should be understood as existing by imputation, not existing as a substance.' Just like imputing self or sentient being based on the aggregates.
