The net of elaboration, which is said to abandon all extremes, is explained in the Auto-commentary on the Two Truths: "Therefore, it is not empty; it is not non-empty; it is not existent or non-existent; it is not unborn or non-unborn; the Blessed One spoke of these and so on." And why is that? Because it is without elaboration. It alone is free from all nets of conceptualization. It is said that the net of conceptualization is the net of elaboration. Moreover, when the reality itself is directly realized, it reverses, so it is the actual ultimate truth. If it is not like that, then the knowledge of types with objects is in accordance with the former. Regarding the negation of true birth and so on, since there are two things, the knowledge of types negated by this and its object of measurement, one should also understand from that how it belongs to the true conventional truth. The way of explaining that everything that is the elaboration of the two truths is free from the net is very necessary in many situations. Thirdly, if a basis is completely defined as the false meaning of deception, then it is necessary to distinguish the meaning of non-deception, so deception and non-deception are mutually exclusive contradictions. Since it pervades all knowable things in a mutually exclusive way, it also refutes the third possibility. Therefore, one should know that knowable things are definitely limited to two truths. In the Meeting of Father and Son Sutra, it is also said: "Thus, the Tathagata has understood the two, conventional and ultimate, and what is to be known is also exhausted in these truths, conventional and ultimate." Thus, it is said that all knowable things are exhausted in the two truths. In the Samadhi Sutra of the Definitive Exposition of the Holy Reality, it is also said: "Whatever is conventional is also ultimate; there is no third truth." Thus, the certainty of the two truths is clearly stated. If one knows the distinction between the two truths, one will not be confused about the Buddha's teachings, and if one does not know, one will not understand the teachings themselves. Moreover, one must understand it in the way that the Protector Nagarjuna established it. As it is said in the Entering the Middle Way: "From the path of the teacher Nagarjuna, there is no method of pacification for outsiders, because their conventional is itself deviated from the truth, and by deviating from it, liberation is impossible. The conventional truth becomes the means, and the ultimate truth becomes what arises from the means.

If someone does not understand the distinction between the two truths, that is because they have entered a wrong path due to wrong conceptualizations. Therefore, it is extremely important for those who desire liberation to be skilled in the two truths. Secondly, as previously explained, when the view of realizing the two selflessnesses arises from relying on the accumulation of vipassanā, one should practice vipassanā. So, how many kinds of vipassanā are there? Here, we mainly do not show the vipassanā of high levels, but mainly show the vipassanā that should be practiced during the time of ordinary beings. If we fully divide its vipassanā, it is the vipassanā of four natures, three doors, and six kinds of searching. The four are the four kinds of differentiation, etc., spoken of in the Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra. Among them, differentiation refers to focusing on how many (things) there are. Extreme differentiation refers to focusing on what it is like. The first has two kinds of total differentiation and total examination, and the second also has two kinds of differentiation and examination, which is to distinguish the gross and subtle meanings. The recognition of these four is explained in the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra and the instructions of the Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra, etc. The three doors are the three kinds spoken of in the Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra: arising from signs, arising from searching, and arising from individual attention. The recognition of these three, if we take the meaning of selflessness as an example, the first is to focus on the already determined selflessness and keep its sign in mind, but not to make too many judgments. The second is to make judgments in order to make what was previously uncertain certain. The third is to examine the already determined meaning as before. The six kinds of searching are to search for meaning, things, nature, direction, time, and reason, and also to make individual attention after searching. Among them, searching for meaning refers to searching for what the meaning of this word is. Searching for things refers to searching for whether this is internal or this is an external thing. There are two kinds of searching for nature, which is to search for whether this is its own nature or this is a common nature, or to search for what is common and uncommon. Searching for direction refers to searching from the black side, that is, from the perspective of faults and shortcomings, and from the white side, that is, from the perspective of merits and benefits. Searching for time refers to how it happened in the past.
