From page 401 to 439. From page 401 to 439. This is in order to establish that the object to be refuted is understood as being refuted by the object itself. The meaning of "not seeing is the supreme seeing" should also be understood in the same way. As it is said in the Compendium: "Forms are not seen, feelings are not seen, perceptions are not seen, and consciousness is not seen. That which has no consciousness, mind, or intellect, this is the vision of Dharma, as taught by the Thus-Gone One. Seeing the sky and speaking of sentient beings, how does one see the sky? One should examine this well. Thus, the vision of Dharma is also taught by the Thus-Gone One. Seeing cannot be explained by other examples." Thus, it is said that not seeing is the five aggregates, and seeing is the Dharma. This is the meaning of Suchness, whoever sees dependent origination, sees the Dharma. As it is said. For example, the sky is merely the cessation of tangible objects that obstruct. Seeing or realizing it is similar to acting upon what is not seen, since the object to be refuted can be targeted if there is an obstruction, otherwise. There, seeing is the sky, and not seeing is the obstruction. Like that example, seeing Suchness is not like seeing blue, the last two lines negate this. Saying that the five aggregates are not seen means that when Suchness is seen with uncontaminated equipoise, the object of observation is not seen as a phenomenon. In the Entering the Two Truths, it says: "Sons of the gods, the ultimate truth is endowed with all perfections, transcending the realm of the wisdom of omniscience. It is not as it is said, 'This is the ultimate truth.'" Thus, when saying "This is the ultimate truth," the appearance of the object and the subject as separate in the mind, this not-seeing is the source of the reversal of dualistic appearance, not the source of the Buddha not realizing the ultimate. The commentary on Entering [the Middle Way] also says: "Without touching things that are made, but directly manifesting only the nature, therefore, having understood that very nature, he is called Buddha." Thus, it is said that when the Buddha sees Suchness with the wisdom that knows things as they are, he understands only the Dharma nature without touching the dependent arising. Mind and mental events

The cessation of arising means that when reality is manifested, it is the meaning of the cessation of the cause of conceptualization, not that it shows that there is no mind and mental factors. As it says in the Commentary: 'Conceptualization is the cause of the mind, because it is separated from it. That reality is without conceptualization.' As it says in the sutra: 'What is the ultimate truth? If there is no arising of the mind, what need is there to mention letters?' It is said that the meaning of saying that there is no arising of the mind is explained as the absence of the cause of conceptualization. Moreover, it is not completely ceased during the samadhi of the noble ones who are learning, but it is said in the Commentary on Entering the Middle Way that it is completely ceased at the time of Buddhahood. Furthermore, in the Commentary on Entering the Middle Way, it says: 'If that nature does not exist, then the bodhisattvas' practice of austerities for the sake of realizing it would be meaningless, and it would be proven with the means of knowing. As it is said, what is their nature? It is their unconditionality and non-reliance on others, which is the self-nature to be realized by the knowledge that is free from the darkness of ignorance. Who would say whether it exists or not? If it does not exist, then for what purpose would the bodhisattvas cultivate the path of the perfections? Because the bodhisattvas strive in hundreds of thousands of austerities in order to realize that dharmata.' It is said, and as its means of knowing: 'Son of good family, if the ultimate does not exist, then the pure conduct would be meaningless, and the coming of the Tathagatas would be meaningless. Because the ultimate exists, therefore the bodhisattvas are called skilled in the ultimate.' If the ultimate truth does not exist, then the practice of pure conduct for the sake of ultimate nirvana would be meaningless, and sentient beings would not be able to realize it. Therefore, for the sake of their realization, the Buddhas' coming into the world would be meaningless, and the great sons of the Buddhas would not be skilled in the ultimate truth. Therefore, since the sutra that proves the existence of the ultimate truth is quoted, according to the view of this great teacher, the ultimate truth is not an object of knowledge, and in the samadhi of the noble ones, there is no wisdom that realizes reality.
