Moreover, depending on the different places, the intellect and the knowledge of conventions are divided into two, and there is no contradiction whatsoever between these two kinds of knowledge. Likewise, in the stage of the foundational view, it is crucial to understand well that even though two different ways of obtaining, by means of the intellect and the conventional valid cognition, may arise from one subject of dharma, there is no contradiction whatsoever. In the stage of the result, when the two wisdoms measure the object, not only that, but if one understands well where the two valid cognitions went in that object, even if one is not certain about each object, one can also understand that the two object-possessors will not come to be on the same basis. Through this, one should also understand the details of the characteristics of the two truths. Thirdly, if one distinguishes the ultimate truth, in the commentary on the "Entering," it says that if emptiness is elaborated, there are sixteen emptinesses; if it is divided into medium, there are four emptinesses: the emptiness of things, non-things, self, and other; if it is condensed, as it is said, there are two: the selflessness of persons and the selflessness of phenomena. In other treatises, two kinds of ultimate truth are mentioned: the actual ultimate and the similar ultimate. As it says in the "Illumination of the Middle Way": "This unborn is also called ultimate because it is similar to the ultimate, but it is not actually so, because the actual ultimate is beyond all elaborations." And in the "Ornament of the Middle Way," it says: "Because it accords with the ultimate meaning, this is called the ultimate meaning. In reality, it is liberated from all collections of elaborations." The "Two Truths" also says the same. In the self-commentary on the "Two Truths" and the "Ornament," the negation of arising, etc., in the ultimate truth is explained in the conventional truth. The meaning of those is that many of the former made the two ultimate truths as whether or not they are synonyms, and the emptiness that negates arising, etc., in the ultimate truth for forms, etc., is the former, and that is the imputation of the ultimate truth, the characteristic of the conventional truth, and the latter is that which cannot be made an object by any mind, so it is considered unknowable. That is not the meaning of those, so it is explained like this: although the nature of the object must be made the ultimate truth, there are also many such statements in the intellect that possesses the object. In the "Two Truths," it says: "Because it is not deceptive, reason is the ultimate." And in the "Illumination of the Middle Way," it also says: "Whatever is said, such as there is no arising in the ultimate, the meaning there is
