Therefore, even if one contemplates existence, it does not actually arise. As it is said. If these are not distinguished, as long as a thing exists, it exists by its own nature; once it does not exist by its own nature, it completely disappears, and one cannot transcend the two extremes of imputation and defamation. The commentary on the Hundred Treatises says: According to the view of those who say that things exist, as long as that thing exists, its own nature also exists in the same way. When it is separated from its own nature, that thing does not exist at all for it, like the horns of a donkey. Because it does not transcend dualism, all the manifest desires here are difficult to fulfill. Therefore, because it does not exist by its own nature, it is liberated from all extremes of existence; precisely because it does not have self-nature, it can establish cause and effect, thereby liberating from all extremes of non-existence. The "Treatise on the Explanation of Extremes" says: An extreme is exhaustion, endpoint, near, direction, and inferiority. Although our own system also admits the various extremes mentioned above, But the extreme of the wrong path of the so-called view of being free from extremes is, as the "Madhyamaka Illumination" says: If the Madhyamaka school has any ultimate truth thing that is the self-nature essence of the mind, then, when it exists, how can clinging to whether it is permanent or impermanent become an extreme? Following the truth of things as they are and properly directing the mind itself is a place of downfall, which is not reasonable. As it is said, directing the mind to things as they are is not a place of downfall, therefore it is not clinging to extremes. Just as in the world, a cliff is an extreme, and falling from there is called falling into an extreme, clinging to phenomena as real, and clinging to them as not established and non-existent, are the extremes of permanence and annihilation that contradict the correct meaning. Clinging to phenomena as non-existent in the ultimate sense, and clinging to karma and its effects as existing in conventional terms, etc., are not clinging to extremes, because the things that are clung to exist in that way. As the "Cessation of Disputes" says: If the non-existence of self-nature is overturned, then it will be completely established as self-nature. If it is not non-existent in the ultimate sense, then it exists there

As stated in the scriptures, we do not explain without accepting conventional terms. And as stated in the "Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness": 'This arises because of this,' do not obstruct this worldly principle. Therefore, the difference between considering the basis as neither existent, nor both existent and non-existent, nor non-non-existent, nor non-existent, is merely a difference in expression. No matter how much one examines the way the meaning of the two appears in the mind, there is no difference. Therefore, saying that this way leads to falling or not falling is merely clinging to words. Secondly, if persons and conditioned phenomena are established as being without inherent existence through the reasoning previously explained, then considering that unconditioned phenomena such as space, cessations through discrimination, cessations not through discrimination, and suchness, are also easily established as being without inherent existence. The Root Wisdom says: 'Since the conditioned is not established, how can the unconditioned be established?' The way to easily establish this is: If the inherent existence of conditioned phenomena is prevented as before, then even if these phenomena are not inherently established, it is sufficient to establish functions such as bondage and liberation, cause and effect, and the measurable and the measuring. If this is established, then even if unconditioned phenomena such as the nature of phenomena and cessations through discrimination are not established as being truly existent, it is sufficient to properly establish the designations such as the object to be attained on the path, the object to be measured, and the Dharma Jewel as the refuge of those to be tamed. If these are not acknowledged as being truly existent, then one cannot say that it is necessary to establish these, so there is no need to acknowledge these as being truly existent. Even if one considers these to be truly existent, one must also acknowledge their names, meanings, causes of separation, results of separation, and the designations of being measured by valid cognition, etc. Although it is necessary, one acknowledges it, and although one acknowledges it, it is necessary. At this time, if these are not related to their respective objects to be attained, characteristics, and measuring instruments, etc., then it is unavoidable that all unrelated things will become names and meanings, etc. If one wants a relationship, then for true establishment that is inherently established, it is not permissible to rely on others, so one cannot establish a relationship. Similarly, one should also refute by examining one and different. If this rational analysis cannot refute the view that these are truly established, then one should also in all ways refute conditioned phenomena.
