Nor is it desired. Because the boundary between observing and not observing the ultimate reality is also established from there. If something existed by its own characteristic, then by the power of conventional terms, it would become something that is not merely established, but exists by its own nature. Therefore, whether it exists by nature, by its own characteristic, or by its own essence, it is not accepted even in conventional terms. The details have already been explained elsewhere. The second point is: If the Buddha's wisdom that knows the suchness of things has realized the ultimate truth, as it is said in the commentary on the "Entering the Middle Way": "If it is not the case that such a nature is not seen, then how do they see it?" The answer is: "It is true, but they see it in the way of not seeing." This means that for seeing nothing at all, it is said to have seen the ultimate reality. And to prove this, it is quoted that the ultimate truth transcends the realm of all-knowing wisdom, and that the continuity of mind and mental factors is completely cut off at the stage of Buddhahood. If the Buddha does not see the aggregates and so on, then how is it not contradictory to say that he knows all phenomena at the time of the ten powers? The so-called seeing in the way of not seeing does not mean seeing nothing at all, but rather it means that if these objects that appear due to the darkness of ignorance existed in a real way, then the stainless meditative wisdom of the noble ones should apprehend these objects. But in fact, they see the suchness of these things by not seeing anything at all, because only if there is an object to be refuted can it be apprehended.
