The six consciousnesses, and the six objects grasped by the former six consciousnesses, and the six objects grasped by the latter six consciousnesses, that is, the six erroneous objects and object-possessors are erroneous conventional truths, and the six non-erroneous objects and object-possessors are correct conventional truths. And this is also established as correct and erroneous conventional truths in relation to the valid cognition of the worldly or nominal. It is not in relation to the wisdom consciousness that follows the vision of the noble ones. Therefore, according to the Madhyamaka's own system, for those who possess ignorance, the appearance of images and the like, and the appearance of blue and the like, with respect to the object of appearance, there is no distinction between being mistaken and not being mistaken. Therefore, the two, correct and erroneous conventional truths, are not made. As it says in the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds, "The six unimpaired senses, whatever is grasped, is understood by the world, from the world itself it is true, the remainder, from the world itself it is established as false." And so on. The clinging to the self-existence of persons and phenomena has two aspects: the negative view of clinging, such as that arising from the immediate corruption of the mind by one's own bad philosophical system, is exceptional because it cannot be established by nominal valid cognition. Furthermore, the appearance of duality in the wisdom of knowing as it is, which is free from all causes of being disturbed by the habits of ignorance, is also not a delusion with respect to the object of appearance. The reason has already been explained elsewhere. The second part has three points: explaining the meaning of ultimate and truth, explaining the definition of ultimate truth, and explaining the divisions of ultimate. The first point is: The Clear Words says, "Meaning is also it, and supreme is also it, therefore it is ultimate. It itself is truth, therefore it is ultimate truth." Thus, both meaning and supreme are considered to be ultimate truth. The truth of ultimate truth is non-deception, that is, things exist in one way, but appear in another way, therefore it does not deceive the world. Ultimate truth is merely posited as existing under the power of worldly conventions, as stated in the commentary on the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning. Therefore, the truth of conventional truth is truth in the face of the clinging to truth, and the two, ultimate truth, have different meanings. The second part has two points: the actual meaning and the refutation of disputes. The first point is: the definition of ultimate truth is, from the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds, seeing the correct meaning of what is to be known.

The explanation of obtaining [ultimate truth] is as previously stated. In its commentary, it says: Among them, the ultimate truth is the unique object of the wisdom of those who have realized reality, through which one obtains one's own nature, but it is not established by one's own essence, because this is the sole essence. Thus, it is obtained through the uncontaminated wisdom that measures Suchness, because it is said that it is not established by one's own essence. If something to be obtained through uncontaminated meditative equipoise arises, then it would become truly established. Such a view is refuted. Because it is said "the distinction of wisdom," it is not sufficient to obtain it through any wisdom of the noble ones. Rather, it is obtained through the wisdom that knows how the distinction of wisdom is, which is the true manifestation of ultimate truth. The meaning of obtaining is the meaning of being established in that way through that wisdom, which is the same in conventional truth as well. Furthermore, how is it obtained? For example, when someone with cataracts sees hairs falling in the sky, a person without cataracts does not even see the appearance of hairs falling in that space. Those who are harmed by the cataracts of ignorance grasp at their own nature, such as the aggregates, and when the habitual tendencies of ignorance are completely exhausted, the uncontaminated wisdom of the noble practitioners, measuring the Suchness in the way of seeing it, like an eye without cataracts, does not even see subtle dualistic appearances. By what nature does one see it? That is the ultimate truth. The Entering Path says: Hairs and the like due to the power of cataracts, Whatever inverted nature is discriminated, In what nature is that seen by a pure eye, Know that nature to be like that here. Its commentary also says: Those aggregates and so forth, free from the habitual tendencies of ignorance, are seen by the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, in the manner of seeing hairs by one without cataracts. By what nature do they see? That is their ultimate truth. The ultimate truth seen in this way is the ultimate nature in which each phenomenon has two natures. That is, the Nirvana of the purity of nature, which is empty of inherent existence, and the Nirvana of the truth of cessation, which is free from all kinds of seeds of defilement. The reason is
