Just as the example of establishing the definitive understanding of selflessness upon the former. Considering this meaning, it is also said in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "How you understand my self-grasping, The same wisdom should be applied to all. The nature of all phenomena, Is completely pure like the sky. One knows, then all know. One sees, then all see." This means that when one has a good understanding of the reality of the "I" upon which the grasping of "I" is based, one should apply this reasoning to internal phenomena such as the eyes and ears, and external phenomena such as vases. Because one should understand in this way, by knowing and seeing the state of one phenomenon, one can also know and see the nature of all other phenomena. The second aspect is divided into two: establishing the selflessness of persons and the selflessness of phenomena. The first aspect is divided into two: identifying the person, and establishing that it is without inherent existence. The first point is: the so-called person refers to the persons of the six realms such as gods, as well as ordinary beings and noble beings, etc. That is, those who accumulate black and white karma, those who experience its results, those who wander in samsara, those who cultivate the path for liberation, and those who attain liberation, etc. Furthermore, the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds Commentary, etc., quotes the sutra: "The so-called self is the mind of Mara, You are Those who have become observers. These aggregates of actions are emptiness, There is no sentient being in this. Just as the collection of limbs, Relying on it, it is said to be a chariot, Likewise, relying on the aggregates, Conventionally it is said to be a sentient being." Among them, the first verse shows the selflessness of persons, which is the absence of a person in the ultimate sense. The first line says that the grasping of the self is the mind of Mara, the second line says that those who grasp in this way are controlled by wrong views, and the third and fourth lines say that the aggregates are empty of a self of a person. The second verse shows that persons exist conventionally, in which the first two lines are a metaphor, and the last two lines are combined with meaning, showing that persons are merely imputed in dependence on the aggregates. This sutra says that the collection of aggregates is the basis of imputation for persons, and the basis of imputation should not be an imputed phenomenon. The collection of aggregates must be both a simultaneous and sequential collection, therefore

It is not appropriate to establish the collection of aggregates as a person, and if the collection is established as the basis of imputation, then the possessor of the collection is also established as the basis of imputation. Therefore, neither of these two should be a person. As it is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: "The sutras say that the aggregates are the basis, therefore the mere collection of aggregates is not the self." And: "If you say that the Buddha said the aggregates are the self, then that denies a self other than the aggregates, and also denies that form is the self, as other sutras say." As it is said, those shramanas and brahmins who view self and what belongs to self only view these five aggregates. As it is said, the word "only" also prevents the object of the innate grasping at self, which is a self that is different in nature from the aggregates. After preventing that, it is not saying that the aggregates are the object of grasping at self. If it were, it would contradict other sutras that deny that the five aggregates are the self, because if it is the object of the two types of grasping at self, then it must be established as the self if it is the object of the object. Therefore, the meaning of the sutras that say to view the aggregates must be explained as focusing on the self imputed upon the aggregates. Therefore, it should be distinguished that merely taking "I" as the self exists in name, and taking the person as inherently existent as the self does not exist even in name. It should not be said that this system believes that the self of the person exists in name. Such a recognition of the person is a characteristic of this unsurpassed system. Understanding this well is a good method for realizing the non-self of the person that is not common. Second, there are three parts: establishing that the I is without inherent existence, establishing that what belongs to I is without inherent existence, and based on that, showing how the person appears like an illusion. First: There are four key points to this, the first is to examine one's own mindstream and recognize the way of grasping at the person as the self, which has been explained before. Second: If the person is inherently existent, then it must be established as either one with or different from the nature of the aggregates, and it must be decided that there is no other way to establish it other than these two. This is like generally saying vase and pillar, whatever is included is turned back to be excluded, and whatever is not included is sent outwards to be eliminated. Like a vase, whatever is not included is completely turned back to be excluded.
