The reason for that. The first has two parts: the general establishment of the object of focus, and the identification of the object of focus that is relevant to the present situation. The first has two parts: the actual indication of the object of focus, and the indication of who should focus on what. The first is that among the four objects of focus for yogis taught by the Bhagavan, the pervasive objects of focus are four: to remain without contemplation, the two objects of focus of contemplation, and the limits of all things as they are and as many as they are. By means of the first two methods of meditation, meditating by focusing on the meaning of as they are and as many as they are, obtaining transformation of the basis is the accomplishment of the need, which is four. For the object of focus of practice and purification, for those who have heavily practiced attachment, hatred, delusion, pride, and conceptual thought in previous lives, the five objects of focus are, in order, ugliness, love, dependent origination, division of elements, and meditation on breathing in and out. The objects of focus of the wise are also five: aggregates, elements, sources, the twelve links of dependent origination, and what is and is not the place are the objects of focus of the wise. The objects of focus for purifying afflictions are two: the peace and roughness of the upper and lower grounds, and the sixteen impermanences of the four truths, etc. Among these, the objects of focus of practice and purification are special objects of focus because attachment, etc., are easily reversed for those who have heavily practiced attachment, etc., and it is easy to obtain samadhi based on them. The objects of focus of the wise are good objects of focus for calm abiding because they prevent the self of the person other than those dharmas, and thus are in accordance with the arising of higher vision that realizes selflessness. The objects of focus for purifying afflictions are important because they are the antidote to all afflictions in general. The pervasive object of focus is not separate from the previous objects of focus. Therefore, it is necessary to accomplish samadhi by relying on the object of focus of calm abiding that has special needs. Therefore, accomplishing samadhi by making stones and pieces of wood, etc., the basis of focus is clearly not knowing the establishment of the object of focus of samadhi. The second is that if it is a person from great attachment to great conceptual thought, then as stated in the question of Nagabodhi, it is said that one should make a definite object of focus in order from ugliness to breathing in and out. If one practices equally.

If one is a person with few afflictions, then among the objects of focus mentioned earlier, it is sufficient to fix the mind on one that one likes, and it is not necessary to be definite. Among them, those with a greater proportion of the five afflictions such as attachment are those who have become accustomed to the five afflictions such as attachment in previous lives, so even for small objects of the five afflictions such as attachment, the five afflictions such as attachment arise for a long time. Acting in an equal manner means that although one has not become accustomed to attachment and so on in previous lives, one has not regarded them as faults. Therefore, although strong attachment and so on do not arise for a long time in their objects, it is not that they do not arise. Those with few afflictions are those who have not become accustomed to attachment and so on in other lives, and have viewed them as faults and so on, so attachment and so on arise slowly for large and many objects of attachment and so on, and do not arise for medium and small objects. Among them, those with a greater proportion of the five afflictions such as attachment take a long time; those who act in an equal manner do not take too long; and those with few afflictions quickly accomplish calm abiding. Secondly, here, one wonders what object to rely on to accomplish calm abiding. In general, the objects of focus for each individual are as mentioned earlier, but in particular, for those with a greater proportion of conceptual thought, it is very important to meditate on the breath. Furthermore, following the Samadhi and the King of Samadhi in which the Buddha is currently manifestly present, from the Intermediate Stages of Meditation and the Final Stages of Meditation, it is said to practice Samadhi by focusing on the body of the Tathagata. Master Bodhibhadra also quoted in the commentary on the Lamp for the Path that he said to practice Samadhi by focusing on the body. Among them, focusing the mind on the body of the Buddha is because remembering the Buddha generates immeasurable merit, and if the body is clear and stable, then there is a great difference in making offerings and aspirations, etc., as fields for accumulating merit, and confession and vows, etc., as fields for purifying obscurations, and there are virtues such as not losing the memory of the Buddha at the time of death, and if one practices the path of mantra, then there are many necessities such as a great difference in deity yoga. The King of Samadhi Sutra says: "With a body like the color of gold, the protectors of the world are everywhere adorned, whoever's mind enters that object, that Bodhisattva is called equipoise." One should take such an object as the object of focus.
