, and four that are the opposite of that. The object to be understood is that others understand the meaning. There are three types of thought: perception, which is transforming what is seen into what is not seen, etc. There are three types of afflictions. Motivation is transforming thought and wanting to speak. Action is speaking or accepting by not speaking at all, or indicating by signs of bodily transformation. It is said that it is the same whether it is spoken for the sake of one's own or another's needs. Here it is said that relying on the three, lying, slander, and harsh words, will also turn into those three. In the root and commentary of the Treasury, it is said that relying on all four types of speech will turn into the path of karma. In the Vinaya, it is said that in order to generate the ultimate downfall of those, it is necessary to speak oneself. The ultimate is that others understand. If it is not understood, then as the commentary of the Treasury says, it will only become idle talk. That is the same for slander and harsh words. The basis of slander is sentient beings who are harmonious and discordant. There are three types of thought: perception and affliction are as before. Motivation is wanting to separate harmonious sentient beings, and wanting to not reconcile discordant sentient beings. Action is speaking any kind of true or untrue words, pleasant or unpleasant, and speaking for any kind of need of oneself or others. The ultimate is that the words of separation are spoken and understood. The basis of harsh words is sentient beings who have become the basis for generating suffering from all aspects. In terms of thought, perception and affliction are as before. Motivation is wanting to speak harsh words. Action is speaking unpleasant words based on faults of lineage or body or discipline or behavior, whether true or untrue. The ultimate is that the object to whom it was spoken understands the meaning. The basis of idle talk is things that have no meaning. There are three types of thought: perception is perceiving that as that. Although it is only said like that, here it is speaking after perceiving that as that on the thing that one wants to say, because this does not need an object to be understood. Affliction is any of the three. Motivation is wanting to speak unrelated accidental events. Action is starting to speak idle talk. The ultimate is having finished speaking idle talk. The basis of greed is the wealth and belongings of others.

There are three aspects to thought. Perception: perceiving that object as that. Affliction: any of the three. Intention: wanting to possess it as one's own. Application: making effort towards that which is thought. Ultimate: wishing that wealth and so on would become one's own. The basis, perception, and affliction of harmful intent are the same as harsh speech. Intention: wanting to strike and so on, thinking, "How wonderful if they were killed, bound, or if others or oneself were to decline for no reason!" Application: applying effort to that thought. Ultimate: deciding to do striking and so on. The basis of wrong view is the meaning of existence. There are three aspects to thought. Perception: perceiving the meaning of slander as true. Affliction: any of the three. Intention: wanting to slander. Application: beginning to apply effort to that thought. There are four types: Slandering the cause is saying that there is no good or bad conduct, etc. Slandering the result is saying that there is no ripening of those two. There are three types of slandering action: Slandering the action of sowing and holding is saying that the father did not sow the seed and the mother did not hold it. Slandering the action of going and coming is saying that there is no coming here from the previous world and no going from here to the next. Slandering the action of being born is saying that there are no spontaneously born beings and no intermediate state. Slandering existing things is saying that there are no Arhats, etc. Ultimate: definitely engaging in slander. Among these, mental thought is action but not a path of action. The seven actions of body and speech are both action and the basis for the entry of consciousness, so they are also paths of action. Covetousness and the other three are paths of action but not action. Second, two: the weight of the ten paths of action, and incidentally, a condensed presentation of the doors of powerful actions. First, six ways of being heavier than the ground are explained. Manifestly activating is to initiate all actions with the powerful force of the three poisons or without those three. Familiarity is to cultivate and repeatedly practice both virtuous and non-virtuous actions for a long time. Nature is

The seven of body and speech, the latter is heavier than the former, and the three of mind, the former is heavier than the latter. The basis is, to benefit or harm beings such as the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, and Lama. The determination of the non-concordant side to one side is, to take up non-virtuous actions with certainty until the end of life, and not to do a single virtuous action. Eliminating the non-concordant side is, abandoning the non-virtuous side, being free from desire, and practicing virtuous actions. It is also said in the Letter to a Friend: Constant and manifest clinging and without antidote, actions arising from a basis endowed with the chief of qualities, virtue and non-virtue are five great ones, strive to practice virtue from among them. So it is. That is also, divided into two, the basis endowed with qualities such as the Three Jewels, and the basis of benefiting such as parents, so it is five. The second has four: being powerful from the point of view of the field, being powerful from the point of view of the support, being powerful from the point of view of the object, being powerful from the point of view of the intention. The first is, the Three Jewels and the Lama and those similar to the Lama and parents, etc., for these there is no strong intention, even if a small benefit or harm is done, because of the great merit and fault. That is also as it is said in the Mindfulness Sutra: A small object of the Three Jewels, taken without being given, if offered again, the sins of the Buddha and Dharma can be purified, the sins of the Sangha cannot be purified until the result is experienced, and if it is the path of entering the mouth, then one will fall into the great burning hell, and if it is another path, then it is said that one will be born in the darkness of the uninterrupted hell. The Bodhisattva is, the field of virtue and non-virtue is extremely powerful, as it is said in the Sutra of the Mudra Entering the Generation of Faith: Someone is angry and puts all sentient beings of the ten directions into a dark prison, it is better to be angry, sit with one's back to the Bodhisattva, and say, 'I will not look at this evil person.' In this way, countless sins will be generated, more than destroying and burning stupas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. If one generates anger and harmful thoughts towards the Bodhisattva and speaks unpleasant words, it is as said before. As it is said in the Sutra of the Mudra Entering the Determined and Undetermined: With a mind of love, taking out the eyes of sentient beings of the ten directions,
