It is said, "Grasping at the division of self and other, and hatred, all faults arise from this." Third, as stated in the Ornament of the Sutras, "The afflictions destroy the self, destroy sentient beings, and destroy discipline. Those with losses are diminished by gain, and are reproached by protectors and teachers alike. Disputes are unpleasant, and they are born elsewhere in unfavorable circumstances. The loss of what is gained and not gained brings great suffering to the mind." It is also said in the Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life, "Enemies such as anger and desire do not have limbs such as hands and feet. They are neither brave nor intelligent, yet how do they enslave me? They dwell in my mind, freely causing harm. I endure this without resentment, and such tolerance is truly unreasonable! Even if all the gods and demigods were to rise up against me as enemies, they could not lead me into the fires of Avici. But the powerful enemy of afflictions, when encountered, can instantly reduce even Mount Meru to dust. My enemy of afflictions is without beginning or end, like a long period of time. Other enemies are not like that; they cannot endure so long. If I serve them in a suitable manner, they will all bring benefit and happiness. But if I serve the enemy of afflictions, they will only increase harm, suffering, and trouble." One should contemplate the faults mentioned in this way. Gompa-wa said, "To abandon afflictions, one must know the faults, characteristics, antidotes, and causes of arising of afflictions. Having understood the faults, one should regard them as faults and take them as enemies. If one does not understand the faults, one will not regard them as enemies. One should think as stated in the Ornament of the Sutras and the Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life." He also said, "To know the characteristics of afflictions, one should also listen to the Abhidharma. At the very least, one should listen to the Analysis of the Five Aggregates, and having recognized the root afflictions and the near afflictions, whenever any kind of attachment, anger, etc., arises, one should recognize, 'This is it, it has appeared.' Only then can one fight with the afflictions." It should be understood as stated. Second, there are two parts: identifying the actions to be accumulated, and how to accumulate them. First, the action of the mind is the mind that moves and drives the objects of the mind that are in accordance with itself.

arises from mental karma. Thinking is: the actions of body and speech that are aroused by the mind. These are divided into expressive and non-expressive actions. Some Particularists assert that only form is karma, but this is refuted by Master Vasubandhu. He believes that the mind, which engages simultaneously with the expressive actions of body and speech, is karma. Therefore, both actions are said to be the mind. Among these, non-virtuous karma is non-meritorious karma, and meritorious karma is virtuous karma included in the desire realm. Immovable karma is virtuous karma included in the form and formless realms, which is tainted. Secondly, after directly realizing selflessness, although there is still rebirth in samsara due to the power of karma and afflictions, new karma that propels rebirth is not accumulated. Therefore, the accumulators of karma that propel rebirth are all ordinary beings below those who abide in the great supreme Dharma of the Mahayana path of union. That is, with that basis, through the three doors of body, speech, and mind, if one engages in non-virtuous actions such as killing, one accumulates non-meritorious karma; if one engages in virtuous actions of the desire realm such as giving and keeping precepts, it is meritorious karma; if one cultivates calm abiding included in the form and formless realms such as meditation, one accumulates immovable karma. The third part has five aspects: the causes of death, the mind of death, from where heat is collected, how the intermediate state is formed after death, and from there how to take rebirth into the state of existence. The first is: dying from the exhaustion of life, which means that all the life determined by previous karma is exhausted, the time is ripe, and one dies. Dying from the exhaustion of merit is like dying from lack of resources. Dying without abandoning the coarse, like the causes of death such as eating immoderately, as stated in the Nine Section Scripture. The second is: virtuous minds such as faith, and non-virtuous minds such as attachment, arise relying on one's own or another's recollection, and arise in the mind between the arising of coarse thoughts. Dying with an unspecified mind means that one does not recall virtuous or non-virtuous minds oneself, nor does another cause one to recall them. Among these, doing good is like going from darkness to light, and at the time of death, various pleasing dream-like images appear, one dies peacefully, and the cutting of breath is also extremely slight. Doing evil
