Most of the pleasant feelings that are transformed now arise from the thought of happiness as a correction for suffering. There is no happiness by its very nature that does not depend on the elimination of suffering. For example, when suffering from walking too much, the thought of happiness arises from sitting down. It appears that happiness gradually arises when the previous great suffering gradually ceases, but it is not happiness by its very nature. Because if you sit for too long, you will suffer as before. If it were the cause of happiness by its very nature, just as suffering increases as much as one relies on the cause of suffering, so too, walking, sitting, lying down, eating, drinking, and relying on the sun and shade should increase happiness as much as one relies on them. If it is too long, it only creates suffering. These are also mentioned in the Entering the Womb Sutra and the Root Text and Commentary of the Four Hundred Verses. The second part has four points: the suffering of the three lower realms, the suffering of humans, the suffering of the Asuras, and the contemplation of the suffering of the gods. The first point has already been discussed. The second point is: the unpleasant sensations of hunger, thirst, heat, and cold, and the suffering of searching and labor. Furthermore, the seven sufferings such as birth, old age, sickness, and death should be understood from what has been said before. Furthermore, it is said in the Collection of Sayings: "All the sufferings of the lower realms also appear in humans. Tormented by suffering, it is like hell. Because of poverty, it is like the world of Yama. The suffering of animals here is that the powerful oppress the powerless with force, inflicting various harms, like a river." And also, in the Four Hundred Verses, it is said: "For the highest, there is mental suffering, for the ordinary, there is physical suffering. These two sufferings destroy this world day by day." One should contemplate as it is said. The third point is: the Asuras are mentally afflicted by jealousy because they cannot bear the wealth of the gods. Therefore, when fighting with the gods, they experience many sufferings such as their bodies being cut and torn apart. It is said that although they possess wisdom, they are obscured by the obscurations of karmic ripening, so they cannot see the truth on that basis. The fourth part has two points: the suffering of the gods of the desire realm, and the suffering of the gods of the upper realms. The first part has three points:

The suffering of death and falling. The suffering of jealousy. The suffering of cutting, tearing, killing, and expulsion. The first is divided into two: the suffering of death. The suffering of falling into a lower realm. The first is: Previously, from the happiness arising from enjoying the desires of the gods, when the five signs of death are seen at the time of death, the suffering arising from that is very great. The five signs of death are: the color of the body becomes unsightly, dislike of the seat, the garland of flowers withers, the clothes become stained, and unprecedented sweat appears on the body. The second is: As it is said in the "Letter to a Friend": "Having transmigrated from the world of gods, if there is no remainder of virtue, then one will involuntarily be born as animals, hungry ghosts, or any hell." The second is: The gods who possess a great mass of merit will experience extremely excellent sensual pleasures. When the sons of gods with less merit see this, they become jealous, and from that basis, they experience great suffering and discomfort. The third is: When the gods fight with the asuras, they experience the suffering of limbs being cut off, bodies being torn apart, and being killed. If the head is cut off, they die, but the limbs and remaining parts that are cut and torn apart grow back and live. Expulsion means that when very powerful gods clash, the sons of gods with less power are driven out of their own abodes. The second is: Although the gods of the upper two realms do not have the suffering of suffering, they possess afflictions and obscurations, and they do not have autonomy over death and dwelling, so they suffer from bad migrations. Furthermore, in the "Collection of Sayings," it says: "Whether with form or without form, having transcended suffering and pain, possessing the nature of meditative bliss, abiding unshakably for an eon, that is also not truly definitive liberation; from that, one will fall again. From the waves of suffering of the lower realms, having arisen as if liberated, even striving, one cannot abide for long, like a bird flying in the sky. Like an arrow shot by the strength of a child, that has the end of falling. Like a butter lamp burning for a long time, being destroyed in every instant, gathering
