As you said, "Do not speak untrue words." One should believe in and follow the words of the Tathagata. If one does not gain a genuine conviction in this, one will not gain the conviction that pleases the Buddhas in any Dharma. Some people claim to have gained conviction in emptiness, but they do not value or consider the results of actions (karma), which means their understanding of emptiness has been completely reversed. If one understands emptiness, one will see it as the meaning of dependent origination, which will help to generate conviction in the results of actions. As it says in the Sutra: Like illusion, water bubbles, mirages, and lightning, all phenomena are like the moon in water. Although one cannot see beings born from the power of karma who go to the next world after death, the actions done will not be without result; black and white actions will ripen their fruits accordingly. This way of reasoning is excellent; it is subtle and difficult to see, and it is the realm of activity of the Buddhas. Therefore, generate conviction in actions and their results, and day and night, cut off bad migrations with a mindfulness of the three doors (body, speech, and mind). If one is not initially skilled in distinguishing cause and effect, and even if one knows a little, indulging the three doors only opens the door to bad migrations. As it says in the Sutra Requested by the Naga King: Lord of the Nagas, with one Dharma, Bodhisattvas completely cut off the birth of falling into bad destinies and bad migrations. What is that one Dharma? It is like this: How do I exist, how do the days and nights pass? One should separately examine virtuous Dharmas. So it is said. Having thought in this way, the way to turn away from misdeeds is, in the chapter on the Truthful One: King, do not kill living beings, all beings cherish their lives greatly. Therefore, whoever wants to protect life for a long time should not even think of killing in their mind. So it is said. One should not even have the intention to engage in the ten non-virtuous actions and other faults, and one should cultivate the mind of restraint. To Phu Chung-wa, Khamlungpa said: Geshe says that only the results of actions are important, but now he says that teaching, listening, and meditating are worthless. Is it only this that is difficult to practice? Phu Chung-wa also said: Yes, that's what he says. The Teacher's

said, Jowoje said that one should not be too greedy, this dependent arising is very subtle. Phuchungwa said, I am old, good and bad are mixed together. Sharawa said, no matter what mistakes the Buddha made, he would not blame the bad side and retaliate, but did this, so there is the saying that he was born here. Second, even if one tries not to be contaminated by sins, one cannot think it is okay and ignore it if one makes mistakes due to negligence and increased troubles. Therefore, one must strive to follow the remedies taught by the compassionate teacher. Among them, the method of confessing downfalls is to follow the methods taught by the three vows respectively. The method of confessing sins is to rely on the four powers. Among them, the first power is the power of refutation, which is to generate strong regret for the non-virtuous deeds done since beginningless time. It is necessary to contemplate the way in which the three fruits such as the ripening of this life are produced. In practice, one should confess through the confession of the Sutra of Golden Light and the confession of the Thirty-Five Buddhas. Second, there are six kinds of antidotes to the pervasive power: relying on profound scriptures, believing in emptiness, relying on recitation, relying on Buddha images, relying on offerings, and relying on names. The first is: receiving, memorizing, and reciting the words of the Prajna Sutra and other scriptures. The second is: entering the Dharma nature of selflessness and luminosity, and believing that it has been pure since the beginning. The third is: reciting special Dharanis such as the Hundred Syllable Mantra according to the ritual. Asked by Da Sena: Just as the flames of the Soka forest burn all the dense bushes unintentionally, the fire of recitation is ignited by the wind of discipline, and the fire of great diligence burns sins. Just as the sunlight shines on the snow mountain, melting the unbearable brilliance, the sunlight of discipline shines through recitation, and the ice and snow of sins will also melt away. Just as lighting a lamp in the dark dispels all darkness, the darkness of sins accumulated from thousands of lifetimes is quickly dispelled by the lamp of recitation. So it is said. That is, until the signs of purification of sins are seen. The sign is: dream
