Although not accumulated, it is immediately newly accumulated to take the subsequent aggregates. Similarly, in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, it is said: "The desire for existence is extremely transcended, other actions have no power to cause rebirth, because the simultaneous actor is exhausted. The greedy one, if there is, will be born again." Therefore, it is very important to be close to the antidote to afflictions, and that also depends on knowing the afflictions, so one should be skilled in all the phenomena of afflictions. There are three aspects to this: the nature of afflictions, the order of how they arise, and the faults of afflictions. The first has ten: Attachment is to be attached to a pleasing and lovely object, whether external or internal, just as oil enters cloth and is difficult to remove. This also clings to and grows in its own object, and it is difficult to separate from the object. Anger is to be universally tormented by sentient beings and the objects of suffering such as suffering, weapons, and thorns, and the mind is rough, with the thought of harming those objects. Pride is based on the view of the perishable collection, and the mind is proud of the high and low and good and bad, whether external or internal, and turns into a high appearance. Ignorance is the affliction of not understanding because the mind is not clear about the nature of the Four Noble Truths, the law of karma, and the Three Jewels. Doubt is the thought of whether there is or is not, is or is not, in relation to the three truths and so on. The view of the perishable collection is the wisdom affliction of seeing the aggregates of appropriation as "I" and "mine," with the view of "I" and "mine." Among them, the perishable means impermanent, and the collection means many, so the basis of what is viewed by this is only the impermanent and many dharmas, and there is no permanent and unique person. Because it is shown in this way, the name is established as the view of the perishable collection. The view of holding to extremes is the wisdom affliction of seeing the self held by the view of the perishable collection as permanent and solid, or as a nihilistic view that there is no continuity from this life to the next. The view of taking views as supreme is any one of the three views of the view of the perishable collection, the view of holding to extremes, and wrong views, and the aggregates of the viewer on which they depend, the wisdom affliction of taking them as supreme. The view of taking precepts and vows as supreme is the precept of abandoning evil precepts.

Holding vows and, demeanor and conduct, as well as the actions of body and speech, the ascetic practices that must be carried out, and the aggregates upon which they arise, focusing on the aggregates to purify sins, liberate from afflictions, and the wisdom afflicted by afflictions that observes to certainly liberate from samsara. Wrong view is, denying past and future lives and karmic results, etc., and the superimposing wisdom afflicted by afflictions that holds the powerful and the chief, etc., as the cause of beings. These are identifications of afflictions made from the common standpoint of higher and lower schools. The view of the Prasangika Madhyamaka will be explained below. Secondly, if one considers the view of self and ignorance as separate, for example, when darkness slightly descends on a coiled rope, and the reality of the rope is not clear, then a thought arises that it is a snake. When the reality of the aggregates is clear, the darkness of ignorance that obscures it causes the illusion of clinging to the aggregates as self, and from this, other afflictions arise. If one considers the two as one, then the view of self itself is the root of afflictions. Moreover, when the view of self grasps at self, it creates a distinction between oneself and others. Having made such a distinction, attachment arises towards one's own side and hatred arises towards the other side. Arrogance also arises in relation to self. And, one clings to self as permanent or annihilated, as well as views of self, etc., and clings to bad behaviors related to this as supreme. Similarly, towards the teacher who teaches non-self, and the karmic results and the four truths and the Three Jewels, etc., that he teaches, one develops the wrong view that these do not exist, or one doubts whether such things exist or do not exist, are or are not. As it is said in the Pramāṇavārttika: "If there is self, then one knows there is other, from the division of self and other, attachment and hatred arise, from these and what is connected to them, all faults will arise." Thirdly, as it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Afflictions destroy self, destroy sentient beings and discipline, those with loss are inferior due to gain, protection likewise the teacher scorns, quarrel unpleasant he to others, is born in an unfree place, having obtained or not obtained, loss, the mind obtains great suffering." It is also said in the Bodhicaryāvatāra: "Enemies such as hatred and desire, have no hands or feet, nor are they brave."
