and other uncommon dharmas, etc. Furthermore, a perfectly complete Buddha is not one who merely eliminates some faults and perfects some qualities, but one who eliminates all faults and perfects all qualities. Therefore, the Great Vehicle that accomplishes Buddhahood also prevents all faults and generates all qualities. Thus, all the qualities of abandonment and realization of all other vehicles are included in the path of the Great Vehicle. Therefore, all the Buddha's teachings are included as branches of the Great Vehicle's path to Buddhahood, because there is no word of the Buddha that does not eliminate some faults or generate some qualities, and all of these are not abandoned by the Great Vehicle. If one thinks that this is the case in the Paramita Vehicle, but not when entering the Vajra Vehicle, although the way of learning the infinite divisions of the explicit teachings such as generosity is different from mantra, as in the Paramita Vehicle, the basis of practice is the generation of bodhicitta, and the rough body of the path of learning the six perfections of conduct is similar, so that much is common. The Vajra Peak Sutra says, "Even for the sake of life, one should not abandon the mind of enlightenment. The practice of the six perfections should never be abandoned." In addition, there are many such statements in the tantric texts. In the reliable rituals of Anuttarayoga Tantra, it is also said that one must take both common and uncommon vows, the former being the Bodhisattva vow. The venerable Rinpoche also said, "My guru knows how to grasp all the teachings with the four-cornered path." This statement is very worthy of study. Secondly, the greatness of all the scriptures appearing as instructions is that some people think that there are no essential points of practice in the great texts, but only explanatory teachings, and that there are separate oral instructions that show the essential meaning of the essential points of practice. To think that the sacred Dharma itself has two separate dharmas, teaching and practice, hinders the generation of great respect for the immaculate sutras and tantras and commentaries, and thinks that they do not show the inner meaning, but only the outer understanding.

It is merely cutting off external conditions. Know that regarding (the Dharma) as a place of contempt like this will accumulate the obscuration of abandoning the Dharma. Therefore, for those who desire liberation, the best, non-deceptive advice is the great treatises. However, due to reasons such as one's own dullness, one cannot gain certainty by relying solely on the treatises as the best advice. Therefore, one should seek the oral instructions of the holy ones in order to find certainty in them. One should not think that the treatises are merely cutting off external conditions and have no essence, while the oral instructions reveal the inner meaning and are the best. The great yogi Jangchub Rinchen said, "To be proficient in oral instructions does not mean to find certainty in a palm-sized pecha, but to understand all the scriptures as oral instructions." In addition, Gompa Rinchen Lama, a disciple of Jowo Je, also said, "Atisha's oral instructions made me shatter my body, speech, and mind into dust in one sitting. Now all the scriptures have become oral instructions." One should understand it in this way. Tönpa Rinpoche said, "If, after studying a lot of Dharma, one needs to find other ways to practice, that is a mistake." Just like that, even if one has studied a lot of Dharma for a long time, but does not know how to practice at all, and wants to practice, one needs to find methods from other places. This is also a mistake because one has not understood what was said before. Just like that, the Treasury of Teachings says, "The Teacher's sacred Dharma has two aspects: the nature of scripture and realization." As it is said, there are only two teachings: scripture and realization. The teaching of scripture is to determine how to receive the Dharma and how to practice. The teaching of realization is to practice in the way that has been determined after it has been determined. Therefore, these two are cause and effect. For example, when racing a horse, one must first show the horse the racetrack, and then let it run there after it has been shown. If one shows a different racetrack but makes it run in a different place, it will become a joke. Similarly, if one determines one thing through hearing and thinking, but practices something else, how can one accomplish it? Just like that, the Last Chapter of the Stages of Meditation says: "Furthermore, whatever is realized by the wisdom arising from hearing and the wisdom arising from thinking should be cultivated by the wisdom arising from meditation, and not otherwise."
